If you'd like, I have an excel spreadsheet that has all the level ranges of the scenarios and who made them on it. I would need to edit it so my ratings aren't on it, but I have no problem sharing it :p

Actually that would be quite useful. Share away :)

  2. Last year I played the first BoA scenario an it was quite fun, but I wanted to get into trying out the Geneforge series so I never went back to BoA. Now I'm in the process of replaying Avernum 3 then Nethergate:R again. Once I'm done with that I will dive into BoA. One thing I wonder about is the process of playing all the scenarios. How does it work in terms of balance? How do I know if I'll find an amazing weapon in one scenario that trivializes the next scenario I play?

  3. Replaying this game, but on torment difficulty this time around. The challenge is doable until I make it back to Avernum after that river journey. After that, anywhere I went, I would get destroyed. I'm building my front guy as a kind of tank slash front row battle guy. I wasn't paying attention to levels up until now. I check levels and my front guy's level is half that of everyone else. I check my experience penalties and it makes sense.  Everyone is around 35% penalty while front row dude is at 70%. I use the character editor to remove a trait, but I'm worried he will be under leveled for the whole game. I didn't see an option to change levels or experience. I don't want to "cheat", but I also don't want to start over again.

Many of the games can be finished without landing a single blow. I think there are people that have done it.

As such, they would make pretty boring doom \ diablo games.

Eh, I just want to use the setting of Avernum and make it in a Doom map. World design/creation is what I'm into.

  5. I've been taking Janell along with me every time. I'm using her as a healer and kind of a beastmaster. I'm a Blademaster and I've also been taking Nathalie with me. I haven't had too many troubles so far, but I'm only playing on hard.

There's something about he game I can't put my finger on, but this game feels different from Avernum and Geneforge past the different mechanics and a new-ish engine.

The "just walk away from the valley" ending is not the non-aligned ending, just to be clear.  That's the "I give up" ending.  😛

Oh, that makes sense that it's the giving up ending. It was so depressing, though I have nothing against a depressing ending (I've done that before). I was aligned with the Awakened when I walked away.

Unrelated, it might take me some time to get used to Avadon.

    Much better IMO! :).

The awakened ending was indeed much better. Now I'm done with the game. I'll save some of the other endings for a second playthrough some time in my life. Now I think I'll move on to the first Avadon.

You don't have to. You can literally walk away from the valley and tell the Shapers what's happening here.
But the Awakened ending is IMO the best.

I didn't know I could walk away like that. I just did that and checked out that ending. Kind of a depressing one, so I'll see what the awakened ending is like.

  9. I'm not sure who I'd join, now. I'm kind of pro-creation, especially since it's who I spent G1 dealing with. I was going to join the takers, but the first quest to kill someone, I just couldn't do it.

I'm not sure if I'll do Gazak-Uss. I might end up just wanting to get the game over with, but maybe not. I'll give it a shot.
