  1. Nooope Alwan along with Khyrik, Astoria, Shanti and Miranda are the most reasonable shapers you can find. And he would be more like astoria if the rebelion and how it started wasnt personal to him. I think he more than all understands the rebels. And at one point in the series he mentions that he doesnt agree with all the shaper laws and would change them if he could. He is pro shaper but not really a fanatic. He doesnt burn down geneforged people and anyone who questions him. He follows the rules sure. But more than once he was willing to bend or even break them. When he sees fit.

  2. *SOMETHING ON NOT RELEASING UNBOUND*

Keep working on the geneforge Blxz! Don't get distructed. Owenrus is already making Fyoras that can't breathe fire and starts writing ethics about not creating creatures too big for him to control safely and how cloned-humans-with-big-noses he will eventually make will have to serve him for eternity.

    They will need your geneforge.

*Scribles a note somewhere to remind me to criminalise cricticism and disidence when taking over*

*Stops talking about his work with outsiders*

*expects blind compliance from outsiders too*

  3.

So... your plan is to make a fyora. I find Blxz's ambitions to create a geneforge more... wait.

You plan to spend years and years to learn slowly how to make a small lizard, understanding the procedure, the risks etc.

Blxz is creating a geneforge to bypass all that.

Where have I heard that kind of disagreement?

Owenrus: DO NOT enslave the clones-of-humans-with-big-noses you'll eventually make! NOTHING would have happened if the Shapers were Astoria-like from their early days. No rebellion. No destruction. No Unbound. No Purity Agent.

But... But... I created them. They owe me full obedience. For all the eternity. And their kids and grandkids too all their descendants!

But i will head your warnings. Idk if i can handle purity agents amongst others.

Also tbh i could make a big lizard that is powerfull. I just don't wanna die. Its not like i have magic to kill it.

  4.

Everyone that plays these games will appreciate your efforts to create a geneforge. Just make sure to write on the pool "should not be used to make Unbound" and on the other side "Trakjov, hands off!"

Wait. He's actually tryna do that o.O

    Amaze!

I'm tryna create the Unbound myself.

(Not really just a tinny lizard thingy thats powerfull. I was very disapointed to find out no organism creates fire)

For reals the only reason im doing biology is to create dragons.

(in compliance to leaving sanity at the door dont judge me folks.)

  5. 1-Happy Pills, Norah Jones

I don't really know why. Its a silly song but i love it and makes me smile

    2-Lost One, Jay-Z

Well.. its complicated to explain. I think the music shows that life tends to be a strugle one way or another but you pull through. And that everyone has problems at the same time yours are important and meaningless. Plus the rythm is pretty amazing

    3-Dreams, Fleetwood Mac

Ha! Another childhood song. I can actually only enjoy it when im alone/at peace. The rythm is very very relaxed.

4-Ты У Меня Одна, Юрий Визбор

My mother used to sing this. But i would interchange it with inner smile by texas which reminds me when i was 6 i and my siblimgs decided to start a rock band. It lasted a week. Good times

5-Hard one... I guess 3005, Childish Gambino. Im sure it resonates with something i like about myself. I'm just not sure what. I guess not constant. Which im sure is a bad thing. But i like it.

6-Pretty Things, Tulpa. Are you kidding me? This is classic, street, makes you wanna move it makes you wanna chill. This is gold! Hours later and here i am again explaining that it has the violin there to making it and edging in. This song is very interesting.

7-Female Dog Don't Kill My Vibe, Kendrick Lamar. My best friend kept insisting i'd love this song. We have very similar taste in music so i trusted her. I hated it. Years later i started to apreciate every part of it. It really is a great song.

*- I woke up extra early giving me extra hours to study for my exam today. That i am here speaks a lot about my commitment to it though :p

EDITED: Version 2.0.0.3. Now with small explanations.

  6.

Also, no wonder Shanti was so beloved! She's the second NPC Shaper you meet in the entire series, but the first one who (a) isn't crazy, and (B) is part of Shaper society. Shanti gives us a concrete, realized version of the ideals of the Obeyers, the fears of the Takers, and the pragmatic chess-playing of the Awakened -- and then her ultimate fate makes her an icon of the perils of Shaping overreach, given the faction involved in it. Like Litalia, she connects with all the bases, but she does it in one game, through her character and personality, rather than by being essentially a tasteless shapeshifter.

Finally a statement i can fully stand behind.

  7.

The other thing is that in a roleplay game often total balance is not required. Keep things in the same area but let people make what they want from that characters.

Yep. Eg, i am partial against vlish so i go to the more expensive less effective searing artilas for no reason other than preference. I also tended to choose shamans in avadon despite their absurd handicap. Balance is good. But by far not too important.

  8.

It is a very effective coping mechanism for many people. Ignoring problems (medical, social, societal, etc) is how many people maintain a happy or at least content life.

In terms of unjustified involuntary commitments, Saint Elizabeths in DC is always the example that comes to my mind.

Yeeep its an effective coping mechanism. If you have stage 3 cancer very effective just ignore it and continue living life the best you can and enjoy yourself while you can. But there are things that could change if all of us stopped ignoring them.

  9. First off. Im doing exams right now so sincere good luck wishes

Second. Make the wariors have better magic than guardian. No need to explain it cause geneforge. I think that would even out.

Third. Make lifecrafter rogue chance pretty high but lowers on luck skill.

Also would be cool to have origin stories for each class.

  10. Actually, few people are interested in poetry these days and it's not really an efficient way to reach people with an idea, unless it's in the form of a pop song. I did write and self-publish an ~300 page book of poetry, but I'm focusing on visual art these days. I do plan to put up "Info & Ramble" pages for all my designs eventually, and many of the rambles will discuss issues I care about. I don't know that anyone will actually read them though, because I can't even sell the products themselves despite my attempts. Not giving up though.

I like that little proverb, I guess, but right now my reaction is, "Well, I guess my shoulders aren't too strong then, because I want to give up." On the other hand, I think of my mountain climbing experience, I think of my father and my grandfather and how strong they were, and how much they loved me, and I just don't want to think of letting them down. There's poetry about them in my book, some of my favorites, especially the one about Grandpa. I can look at that and hopefully keep my resolve.

Well if we're to take the cue on how to self publish from success story i'd say add some poem about an abusive relationship and call it 36 tones of brown. About a dettatched dominatrix thats also a millionaire :p

But from my personal experience a lot of people enjoy poetry still. Thats the kind of thinking ray bradburry had when writting fahrenheit 451 and lo, decades later books are still a thing. Just go around shamelessly forcing it on your friends. They'll eventually even be able to notice improvements and drops in quality. Of course thats a bit pushy. Try indie publishers. They usually have a specific genre or target audience and are friendly.

Visual arts work too. Most art does if you are good enough and can reach it to people.

Lastly i love self fulffilling things :p

  11. As someone with little to no experience in what you're going through here's what i can say.

    1. Fight for civil rights is hard and slow. But never think it's pointless, we still have a long way to go but looking back we've come a long way too. Don't give up just yet. Smile now even if forced and be a little optimistic :)

2-You say you're a poet. A good way of inspiring change is through art. That is exactly why in countries under authoritarian leadership censure tends to exist. You do your best to become influencial as an artist and do exactly that. Influence people. Because while a documentary on humam rights violations will be ignored by most. Poetry will still be read by a lot of people. And even while depicting something ugly poetry is still in itself beautifull. You could write books too. God knows Chuck Palahunik has success even in books such as "haunted".

3- Lastly and this will come off as cheap and unhelpfull. But at some points it was the only thing that allowed me to make sense of some unpleasant situations: "Heavy burdens are for strong shoulders to carry." Know that most of us wouldn't be able to cope with what you're going through in any way. But you can. And that means something. Don't sell yourself short.

I'm sorry i can't be of much help but i hope the little i said was usefull :)

  12. I never realised it was this complex.

I wpuld very much like to see it done with A6 im curious on weather gladwell's quests hold any influence.

Geneforge 3 has some interesting alternations too. Not as many as this.

And one big question i have is, what happens if you kill goettsch take his gloves and leave sucia? Because technically no one would be able to use the geneforge.

Also what happens if you kill gornel but ally with trajkov?

  13. Ok, the title itself is pretty straight forward. I personally wouldnt mind it but it's stuck at page 20 and that is very embarassing. And its not due to lack of time. As many may have noted i have way too much free time. Hoarded by very well managed(depends on how you see it) procrastination.

  14. To be honest its beyond me how people feel so comfortable ignoring bad situations. It happens really not that rarelly that people indeed should have nightmares about it.

Know when they shouldn't? When it doesn't happen anymore. As a scientist i can relax and not worry about being burned by the inquisition. But to other problems people face? No. Until an ill is erradicated why bother living in an ilusion. It will come and get you or someone close sooner or later.

But sadly i have to agree with slartibus. People are comfortable ignoring the ills of society. Investigators are unlikelly to make a difference and if they can be traced back to TADOS, it could mean problems for him too. Even media is likelly able not to make much of a difference. You see a documentary on human rights violations and the most likelly reaction is switch the channel.

  15. Hahahahahahahaha! Man you have no idea how acuratelly that describes mu reaction to canisters. "What? No more wasting money in exorbitant school feel! Who needs control! I'm your god now losers! Canisters! Gotta catch them all. Because who says i cant learn fireball 7 times. Do i need to? No. But can i? Yes i can. Yes i can" xD

She took the teach the man how to fish to a whole new level with lankan.

Yep she is crazy. Freaking insane. And absurdly powerfull. Lovely mixture. Like... hmm. Yep. Like giving joker nuclear technology.

  16. Thanks man, duly corrected. And well the canon for 4 was pretty decisive and depending on your opinion, good?

I'll have to replay geneforge 2 to find out who else.

But I'll have to agree with you if we're considering geneforge 1 solo.

  17. Why would you feel bad for the Obeyers ? They can get a great ending

They are brought before the council to be judged and then put in charge of other serviles, as a humane element between the shapers and the non-intelligent serviles. Rydell dies happy at some point.

Sure but then there is the canon.

They all get purged by the shaper council and few that survived only did so due to the greed of two shapers. Actually im not entirelly sure any obeyer got saved.

If we're to scope in just within g1 then you're right, along with awakened they had the best. But seeing it with the rest of the games in mind...

  18. Yah, she once went hunting drayks, once went to kill disloyal serviles etc... But i think the main point was that she was one of the people enlisted to purge a certain place

    Drypeak

and she didn't like that. It also varies on the games weather she actually participated in the purge and saw that it was unfair or that she didn't do it to start with. Unfortunatelly nothing is given in the way of a real explanation on switching sides. But i think at some point just power was a great incentive for her. And while i trully respect her sheer determination. She was more a woman of action than a woman of ideals. I like to think she just chooses a place and position where her actions make more of a difference. But tbh i doubt any of us really understands her.

  19. Also i was trying to avoid comenting on adventurous eating. But i don't think any of us went out of their way to hunt down endangered species eat their hearts and dance howling in the moon covered with their entrails. (Sorry i was playing dragon age. Couldnt help it)

From the list here only whales are endangered that i know of, unfortunatelly eating or not eating them has no difference as if im not mistaken whales are hunted for the oil which makes for a relativelly clean fuel, japan and iceland are likelly to keep killing whales because of that. Even though crocs are not endangered(i think) they are also mostly killed for their skin which makes for good quality if unreasonably expensive leather.

That being said it is a very fair concern and good/important point was raised, as there are some people who like hunting endangered species for the lolz. And thats not cool and i think i speak for all of us when i say we do not condone that.

Finally i don't think local cultures worldwide really eat endangered species. And I'm really adamant about this since a lot of hunters that come around in africa try saying they killed this or that for the local populations to eat. I assure you having lived here for a long time, that that does not happen. No one really eats lions or leopards or anything like it. Some might eat girafes or other kinds of "bushmeat" but is not out of tradition its out of various things such as affordability availability and others. Give them a cow and they will be gratefull, you dont even have to hunt a cow. Hell give them rice and maize and its still helpfull. Don't use people with food insecurity as a scapegoat for certain actions. Luckilly the ammount of people that live in or near national parks is VERY low. A fair ammount lives in cities and the rural comunity would really rather stay away from rhinos, lions, elephants and anything that might kill them.

And im sure most countries have very tight regulations on endangered animals. Even ones that are consumed worldwide(such as beluga sturgeon). And those rules tend to be enforced, for instance park rangers in kenya, south africa and mozambique(other countries too likelly but i do not know for certain) are allowed to kill poachers. Not arrest or detain. They are allowed to kill them. Not encouraged to but so far at least in kruger park it has been a major deterrent against poaching. Not that the regulations are perfect.

This of course was largelly off topic but i think it merited a post.

  20. Ok, most serviles are born and the shapers dont pay much atention to how they breed. But there is continuous mention of servile strains and more than once they noted miners and builders and menial work related have a harder time speaking etc etc...

I think serviles bond everywhere. There should be other examples. I just cant remember any besides reiner and sandia and not really the best example. Back to what i was saying even if a shaper doesnt selectivelly breed serviles. Situationally the cross breeding between strains would be rather low. Since miner serviles would be in a mining camp and rarelly find a scribe servile there. Sure mixing can occour in ocasions. Specially with freeborn serviles. What is weird is how after g1 you never see a servile care center again. It might have helped better understand the whole thing.

    The main spoiler on it however was;

Serviles in sucia continued obeying the shapers long after they were gone. The takers even state that they killed the first taker for saying their situation was unfair. The obeyers continued obeying the shapers even when the player arives. And mind you in sucia the heavilly dependant serviles were killed off through natural selection. So only the more independent ones survived. And passed on their genes. And even from those independent ones there were some that chose to keep following the shapers. So while i wouldn't say supernatural brain grip it is very close to that. Which is why shapers take them for granted. The only shocking example of serviles acting otherwise was in gull's island. But even then they were amazingly discontent and heavilly influenced by free born serviles.
