  1. 374. Grammar Glamor Grimoire - Self-descriptive spelling repository

Self descriptive spelling book. I think its a reference to: The Glamour of Grammar: A Guide to the Magic and Mystery of Practical English

by Roy Peter Clark .which is a gramar book or so google says

  2. 376. Hoodwinked with a scarf Your nostalgia for the sub rosa culture you were never a part of is showing, dear.

Sub rosa is the latin expression for skulldaggery. I suppose hooded cloaks have something to do

  3. Ooof, I have to say, it hurts to see so much Lankan hate. I think his move is understandable, and he's full of a lot of remorse for it too. It was a split-second action and he recognizes that. It actually humanized the Rebellion for me a lot, because this was just some frustrated human who didn't necessarily have a lot of ideological opposition to the Shapers, as it seems every other rebel does. And he, too, is corrupted by self-shaping. It's a fitting synedoche for the whole Rebellion.

Worth noting that when offered a deal for light punishment for him and reintegration in society for the rest, he refused. Further dooming his followers and all to satisfy his ego. Some say its for what he stands for. But sometimes you gotta surrender even if it labels you as a coward, you will still save lives. Now if your self image is more important that the lives of those who follow you then indeed, you let people die for your ego.

  4. 390. Septic Paladin - Nazgul cousin, or Black Shade or Dragon styling.

    Corrupted paladins. Corrupted kings,

Add a little bit of punk references and dragon styling. Add a little bit of avernum and black shades.

  5. 396. Beards - Painful to remove

Ok i on ocasion(by this i mean thrice in my life) grow an afro. It is painfull to remove do to the amount of time and care you put into growing it. I suppose beards are the same but i am yet to unlock the ability.

  6. 387. Spilt Ilk - Self-descriptive spelling repository.

I suppose ilk means something like of the same kind. It deffinitelly is self descriptive in light of the saying about crying over spilt milk. Im oblivious on spelling repository but let me make a fool out of myself: milk and ilk have similar spellings and ilk in itself is a repository of many closelly associate things.

Please congratulate me on making my dumbest yet post xD

  7. 371. Finitude et recommencement What everything is, according to Stereolab

Stereolab - Hillbilly Motobike bam bam bam bam!

    Tout est finitude

    et recommencement

    la nature a des cycles

    éternel changement

Everything is end and rebeginings, the nature has cycles, eternal changes.

Thank you Thais (she the stereolab fan, and the person that actually gave this answer) And credits to google(for confirming the lyrics).

  8.

406 - NO - also while I don't agree with Camille Paglia about everything, not least her use of ad hominem, I agree with her about a lot of things, including some of those conspiracies and exploitations.

I was actually talking about ad hominem used against her. As in people discard all she believes in because of some of what she says specially on what she speaks about feminism. Myself, i was raised by two women. Honestly believe in equal rights and oportunity(i guess thats the main focus of feminism but i realise a few feminists take it too far). Also i don't mean this in the acusatory at all, just pointing out why i cant see her in a good light. Oh the hypocrisy of it all xD

    388. Opiñata-A garish, shoddily constructed argument that conceals pearls of wisdom

Pinhatas are garish and shoddilly constructed things with usually candies inside. Opinions are likewise not very strong as opposed to facts but they dont lack wisdom some times

  9. 406. Tooth Fairy Faith Healer-Amille Aglia looks for easy money in an RPG

Camille Paglia is a famous crictic of a crapload of sensible things and often manages to correlate the most absurd things and making them seem conspiratory and exploitant. Im not sure where rpg is in here, but i wholeheartedly believe she could make money over some critique of modern culture with those words at the head

Edit: fun fact she actually has some liberal views on a lot(i use it lightly i have no idea how many liberal views she has) of stuff. Such as sexual and reproductory freedom. As such she is a great example on how ad hominem is bad.

  10. 381. Ethical Chain Mail-Magically grows or shrinks to fit the dilemma at hand

Reminds me of something my sister said on political double standarts on morality/ethics how media inflates some dilemas and makes little of others.

  11. 388. Opiñata-A garish, shoddily constructed argument that conceals pearls of wisdom

Im voting for this over the above one.

Pinhatas are garish and shoddilly constructed things with usually candies inside. Opinions are likewise not very strong as opposed to facts but they dont lack wisdom some times

  12. 394. <><><><> -Hidden Coleoptera

Im sure there is a beetle somewhere here.

Now that i think about it this hint would go great with an altered piece of lyrics of any beatles song. Which might be here but im not knowleadgeable enough to know all their lyrics. Hell i dont even know yellow submarine

  13. 400. Finger of Avadon-BDSM implement, presumably

    authority fetish?

    371. Finitude et recommencement-Recyclable elf consciousness streams from my hands

End and i cant translate that better than rebegining probably an analogy to how tolkien explains that elves dont die(at least in sirmarilion) simply go to sleep when they are tired of life and come back when they rest enough. Feanor's mother being one apparent exception.

    374. Grammar Glamor Grimoire-A garish, shoddily constructed argument that conceals pearls of wisdom

On how people might use bad gramar as a counter argument. And grimoire being associented with wisdom but i cant connect.

Side note i was not ready for this so soon.

  14. Vardregas should prolly be in the list, as well as the first god, for being the first and putting in a concept. the crazy one who had twin spirits. And corruption core as a whole entity. As well as shorass as faction leader in g4.

Master jared in g4 was relativelly relevant i think. Same with salassar?

G3 has a frustrating lack of people. But i found the librarian interesting and the merc drakon. I forgot his name from isle of spears. Reappears as canister maker in g4.

Was the bowman in a6 asterios? Im bad at remembering names but i figure he has a place.

Also i dont remember gladwell in a4 only from a5.

The lady mayor from spire i can date her from a4 but probably appeared earlier?

Amana leader on a5 as local power?

Amena blade from geneforge series as our go to storyteler.

The wayfayer from v1 as intrigue character.

Commandee Odil as a local power. I suppose constina too even though you dont really interact with eachother.

For now thats all i remember

  15. My best guess would be too long to read? "That bad" would have had answers likelly. Usually "That bad" tends to be bad enough to be good. And you'd likelly have ended up famous. Like the "my imortal" chick. Go on the lines that for various reasons this site does not see much traffic and some/most of the people dont have a lot of time to read something long that is not part of what a thread they are participating on and likelly even if read trying to articulate an opinion on things like this is complicated specially if the feelings of the author are supposed to be taken into account.

I guess the story should also have been posted on the geneforge forum. Your target audience is more likelly to be there. Anyway you'll need to give people a bit if time to read all of it. Its common to have answers a few days later even if you make a simple post. Don't beat yourself up

  16. I didnt hate starrus; but prazac managed to be more interesting and she isnt even a "character". Well chevyn had no real future, but its really pissing how the second trilogy got rid of all the remarkable characters. And the beat of the stpry changed completelly from wild australia pioneer adventure/survival of the fittest and important quests(a3 being an exception, the main plot was weak imo). They sort of bring it back on 5 but has less detailed writing as well as from an outsiders perspective.

But starrus himself wasnt horrible. As you said he's pretty much the same as micah but with no badass backstory.

I almost forgot to second manifred. Jesus and to think he was ashamed of erika. By far his only quality was being related to her and her only flaw was being related to him. He goes under list of people i hate. Sheesh he's basically the opposite of her in all aspects. Ugh.

  17. Wazzap people! The title is rather straight forward. I wanted to compile the characters you hate here, also please add reasons. Mine are:

Redbeard-He's an incompetent coward. *strong words i know*

The salassar imitation drakon in g5- One might have written greed here, but Alcander is greedy as i love the dude. Simply it was an unoriginal character with no redeeming points.

Dedrik-I thought jennel was shallow. But this... this is all kinds of foolery. Worst of all its that it was pointless and he dares be dandy about it. As well as the whole emotional blackmail and guilt tripping. *omg, this is so wrong, i shouldnt be doing this, im a bad bad boy* and im like *you really dont have to do this*

*Inserts series of slurs aimed at me and some lame ass wannabe jaded-emo anakin skywalker kind of thing* I guess i got carried away with this one.

Gladwell-He's meh and a rather pain in the backside in exchange of power and money all dandy and fair until he asks you to get the spider eggs. That is unforgivably evil and nasty. I wont go on but he is evil.

Zachary-Lame coward with no redeeming qualities.

Barzhal-Oh, i could like him if he didn't slaughter shanti.

Lankan-I admire spirit and ability to stand up for yourself, i admire those more than most qualities. But if you have absolutelly no self control? And with your actions you doom people that look up to you and follow you? I am sure only person i know who would feel more strongly about this is my grand dad.

Melanchion or how you write it- I dont hate him but teen agnst is a big turn off.

Thats all i can think of folks!

  18. Damn! That was almost a killer argument right there. But newbie or not, no one really would expect the geneforge being the only thing to determine the ending. And fort instance in other games you get advised to do this or that(i.e. no canisters, no corruption water etc..) and it affects the ending but certainly does not dictate it. Now if you managed to predict the ending for g1, thats remarckable, no joke, it honestly is. I couldnt. But at the same time must be a bummer not to be able to get surprised at endings. I'm not certain if things like suspension of disbelief can be trained or not but if they can. I strongly advise you to pause your analytical skills in reggards to the plot line. Otherwise its like rewatching a tv show. Even if its good its not as good as the first time. But hey some folks get lots of kicks out of predicting things correctly. If thats your poison the disreggard what i just said. In any case. My point is, its not hard to understand why some people find g1 unpredictable. People just think differently.
