  1. so i chose the awakened ending, and something in the end bugs me. it's when the slide shows a picutre of a door, then it says something in the abandoned taker warren something hides. is it something you can figure out or a cliffhanger that canonically led to geneforge 3? i thought it was gazak-uss, but i reloaded and beat the drakon master in there (had to lower the difficulty, that place is literal hell, especially the eyebeasts.) and the mysterious door slide is still there. i also blew up the drakon geneforge into a crater.
  2. ah that is a great explanation, but as far as creation shdes, in g1, level 3 of create thahd unlock the creation of shade/phantom thahd. but the whole necromancy thing makes sense. yeah most of the ghosts we met in g1 is the tribal native that almost nobody know about. and the shape in sucia island probably have the knowledge of necro magic and since it's going to be barred soon anyway, they use it on themselves. thanks
  3. yeah, but partly they explained how shades came to be in crystal cavern. they are natural occurrence in area with high-concentration of magic energy where it mutates and form life of its own somehow. that's why thahd shades is possible to make. but now, ghosts, with the context the soul of dead people isn't exactly explained well aside from they exist.
  4. if you pay attention to my recent topic you'll know i'm playing trough G2, and there's some interesting conversation that i read. i forgot the exact words and with whom it was, but it said that nobody never see servile ghosts or other creation, intelligent or not. the player ourselves in g1 and g2 at least, never encountered creation ghost either, it's all humans either by will, curse or magic. is it because creation basically don't contain "soul" in them? since they are made from the essence goo, raw genetic material and magic? pretty much they're like organic golems. but what about bred creations? and creations that can use magic? in g1, we know that person with powerful magic can bound part of their soul to stay as a shade after death (like the shaper ghosts in shaper tomb), say can magically adept servile do the same and and somehow make a part of them stay as a shade after they perish. the closest we have to creation "ghosts" is thahd shades, which is not ghost at all, just incorporeal living being. i dunno if this is explained/shown further in g3/4/5, but i can't wait so long because how intriguing i find it is
  5. if i join loyalist or awakened, could i still get drayk shaping ability from trainers? or is it book/canister only?
  6. ok, i started geneforge 2, as a shaper again, how many canisters is the "good" threshold? but since you can learn skill by buying / from books, i guess it really isn't as canister dependant as G1. i just reached the first canister btw

  8. haha yeah, as a shaper, it'd be super tough to not use them maybe someday when i replayed the series, i'd powergame it with no/minimal canister, but for now, i'll play the rest according to my own choices/feel and skill. plus jeff successfully draws out the greed in me with this game i usually do a good first playtrough in most RPG, but this geneforge, really intrigue me. i can't let anyone have this power, IT"S FOR ME ALONE!! anyway, i did some post-game stuff and just cleared the super tough crypt it's super easy with ultra-powered cyrodrayks lol, and i got this crazy girdle that give +4 to all stat lmao. amazing.
  9. so if i didn't use so many canister, then use the geneforge, i actually can control it?
  10. i think i've discovered almost everything in g1, but the native pylons still eludes me, how do i touch them safely, and how do i enter that runed area that cause an insta-kill when you try to pass them?
  11. so use all canisters that i could find, and pick the ending where i use the geneforge for myself, i visited some characters in the world, then went to astrov, the dialogue said i suddenly feel this uncontrollable rage and turn hostile to them. the ending also said i destroyed a city, then retreat and built my own kingdom afterwards. that said, i love how many endings this game got. so far, i got 3 endings, that one (my default one cos i want all those power for myself ), then trying to leave the island without doing the geneforge part, and destroying it. great game, i will start G2 soon.
  12. me too. it nags me so much if i have an unexplored location, even if it's just a small dot on a map with even no loot anyway, i just wipe them up with drayks. i still needed a few healing spores, single shielding spore and a blessing, but heck, i tore em off like a wet tissue. i have 3 of them now, and discarded all my previous creatures.
  13. actually i only put 2 points to healing craft, the rest is canister and samaritan sandals EDIT: i just got the skill to create drayks. dang, these guys are so tough it's a game-changer. high HP, high missile attacks, even high melee bites. no shaper can ask for a finer creatures i love these guys so much
  14. hmm yeah, the mean is alot easier, even with the pylons activated. hmm. it still bugs me i cannot clear the bridges <__< i have this obsession since avernum to clear all the black part of the map, everything. it kinda bugs me hahaha
  15. i dump my points in mechanic, leadership, and INT. i put 2 to STR so i can carry more stuff, the high STR is because of canisters and girdle of strength. aside from that, i tried to put all shaping skills equally which resulted a low yield of each stat. i saw people play with 1 type of creature, so specialize. dunno if i'm f-ed. i generally can beat everything my with current setups, but those bridges and half dozens of battle betas are just too much
  16. i'm level 16 shaper with heavily 2 upgraded thahd, fyora and vlisk, (each level 13+) both bridges are guarded by augmented warrior, and reaper turrets, also some mages. the warrior and mages launch searing orbs that gives 60-80 damage to multiple creatures, the reaper turrets deal 120+ damage each. i already joined a faction and helped astrov, now he instruct me to pass the bridges and go to the geneforge. other than that, i'm clearing the mine areas atm, and the crystal pylons there barely give me XP. aside this, the area i haven't cleared is spirit city because it's guarded by great deal of battle betas and gamma. i kinda messed up my build by spreading my skill equally among 3 type, so when i created "advanced" creatures, it's weaker than my upgraded basic one. am i screwed? >__>
  17. omg this is awesome. coincidentally i just started G1, i'll use it right away, and maybe my eyes will be less burdened
  18. i'm at the bridge east to pentil, i cleared the bridge out of mines but there are still active ones in some cornered places. is there other way to disable them or at least get another batons?
  19. yeha, by the way what's that achievement that requires you to kiss someone? i though jeff added romance stuff with one of the companion, but i never see that option anywhere
  20. 1. can you get yannick snap out of his madness after the mission? i chose to let him research, but all it does is make him crazy 2. which do you think will be the canon ending? i guess it's the side with the pact, but keep redbeard as keeper, and become hand/eye (heart is impossible since our MC have to be there giving out command) with the ending, redbeard is gone, and callan become keeper. oh i'm so excited for avadon 3
  21. found it, it's no creature no.16 on that, and the voice is set to 40, which is the male voice. changed it to 41 now my girl sounds like a girl thx
  22. i started avadon 2, and picked female mage, when she died, the death cry is male one, and not female. is this a bug? any way to fix this? not game-breaking, but very annoying. help
