  1. The first few playthroughs I had trouble with this quest series and it continues. Maybe my party has the wrong companion combination to make it work. Maybe I'm mistaken or losing my mind. These are rebel hunts to be carried out as assigned by Commander Deniz in Green Refuge. The first assignment is to hunt Alric in the Rotting Border. I have killed him every playthrough and no credit. Deniz acted like I hadn't completed the assignment. Frustrated, looking under the hood there was no flag set for success of the mission in the Alric code. I set the proper flag, reloaded and finished and went back to Green Refuge and the quest then went foreward to next assigning Ilse. For Ilse in Kirik-Tor there were two problems, tag 51 never triggered so when I went upstairs there were no enemies except Ilse. A very short fight. Again no flag for success. After repair and reporting to Deniz I'm going to Monitor Base C next for Egmon The Reaver. Looking in the file there, Egmon has no flag for success either. Also, these flags are missing in 1.0 and 1.01 as far as I can tell. "The Corruption" has warped my success trying to complete "The Worst of Them" . Suggestions welcome. Thanks! PS Love the game!! Have been a Spiderweb fan for seemingly decades!
  2. This works great. Thanks for the tip mrb. Now is there a way to slow down other characters so you can start a dialog without running back and forth trying to connect with a moving target?
  3. Could the Resource folder be moved into the 3.0 app and run ok? I would assume your balancing tweeks went into the app itself. Thanks!
  4. 10.6.8 and Avadon 3 was working perfectly.
  5. I redownloaded it from the Humble link and it has a crossed O in the app and when starting says requires 10.7 or later, unlike the original release.

Solved the mystery. 1 The Cornered Prey Quest was guiding me to Velusa to get the invite but it did not credit me with completion. 2 Healing Powers Secrets sent me to The Temple of Velusa where I encountered Ravilla and he was ranting about the invite but I never got it initially. 3 After then seeing Redbeard, he sent me to get it. However, after not giving me credit for it when I returned, I delved deeper into the questions of the two places to get it. 4 When checking the question of where to get it, The Cornered Prey Quest was eraised from the Journal and replaced with a different quest "God of the Tawon" which also asks to get the same invitation. Why? (I asked myself.) Re-discussing it with Redbeard then gives me credit and eraises "God of the Tawon" quest and the plot moved on.
  7. Mybe I'm missing something. I've been sent by Redbeard to get Ravilla's Invitation, which I did, and at a high cost so to speak. When receiving it, the text said there was plenty of time yet before the meeting. After a few short side quests I returned to Fort Foresight and reported to Redbeard. There was no text option to report it and he keeps giving me tips on how to find it. The Journal says to get it and report back. The Special Items list in the Journal says I have it. I'm stuck. (I've been totally loyal to Redbeard in all respects so far.) Thanks in advance and thanks to Jeff for a great game engine!!
  8. Thanks. I had cleaned it prior but didn't realize the backside was by the Warrens as there is no physical exit to walk out there.
  9. I get rebuffed when I try to enter by boat southwest of the Waterfall Warrens and can't find out who gives the quest. Any tips would help. I've finished the three main quests. Thanks in advance!!
  10. I'm perplexed about getting into Angierach. I know where the entry gate is but don't have the invite. I also journalized some discussions where Sixus would tell me the portal code but he didn't when we parted on amicable terms. I have the Phoenix Egg but obviously I'm missing something. This is my last big quest. I have the other two done as well as the first two Crystal Souls. Thanks in advance for any pointers.
  11. The Map of Avernum will show it with a question mark and labeled Portage if you hover your mouse over the question mark.
  12. Julio doesn't give the Athame quest. Just to find the Waterfall Warrens. Rone in the Castle gives you the quest after the King tells you to ask him about it.
  13. I spent almost an hour in frustration, too. I quit the game and came back later. I found if you blow him off in the first round and put someone in the middle he will get back to the edge and the text will say he is protected but if he's not in the middle he isn't. At least for me he wasn't. Having his foot on the circle kept him from bouncing around and regenerating. I blocked the incoming shades with two people, one bladesman and one priest. I used speed potions for the hackers. One, my best, hammered away every time. The second best would hack a shade and if he had a spare move shoot arrows back at Elderan. Eventually Elderan went to zero without ever getting any regenerations. I also cast spells on him every time, preferably with ranged ones that hammered the shades at the same time. Spell energy needed more potions too. Not an easy battle regardless.
  14. Super. Maybe switching areas with your team from a saved game forced a reload and thus loading the new pages. Glad you kept with it.
  15. Great. I'm glad you were able to work it out. What was the problem initially? Maybe someone else could benefit from the possible pitfall. Looking at all the files in the mod, you can tell there are 9 map areas of activity plus the items list. I have as yet resisted the temptation to provide a spoiler of what all is involved. I like the ah-ha moments.
  16. I tested the Kva portal out and it works fine. Here's something you can try. Reload the Bovine file z1dungeondlg.txt and then restart that saved game in Avadon and go down in the dungeon and talk to Eye Mamora. You should get the same portal query for adding more Hands in the dungeon. Let me know what happens. Thanks! (file name edited)
  17. Which map has the pylon that isn't working? Are you running steam? This has been tested extensively so something must have been missed for a certain set of circumstances. Thanks for the info.
  18. The pylon for more party members does not give you the option indoors in Avadon by the way.
  19. Thanks for the note. Not sure what you are referring to. This mod was made with 1.01 but is not related to the pylons but includes the full party mod which asks if you want the help of more Hands when you touch a pylon. Is the full party part working? The Bovine Secret Society works when you talk to bovines and a few other cases that extend the Bovine plot without a bovine around. I hope this helps. If not then share more details and I will help.
  20. I like the magic barriers. The graphics are beautiful and they add another dimension to the experience. Seeing a barrier raises the question of why that specific barrier is sitting in that particular spot. Some barriers are hiding something like a wand or some other minor element of the game. Once in a while there is something important to the plot. I do find the level 3 requirement for some of the barriers annoying also. Forcing someone to return to a spot can irritate some people, I can see that. As for myself, after a few playthroughs I changed the barriers.txt so all barriers are capped at level 2 except the ones meant to be permanent. When playing on Torment it still feels like forever to make any game progress even with only level 2 barriers. I believe the game is designed for a broad group of users and of course different aspects will be favored more or less by different users. It is still a great game and a great series in all its flavors.
  21. I would like to see recruitable characters that could be added to the party. These might be scattered around the map with random encounters and have a wide range of abilities. Thanks!
