Are there any maps out there to help me get to each islands?

I am in the castle, have taken a long resl, had a knock on my door and it is unlocked. But when I get out I can't go anywhere. There is no note or scroll to read to tell me how to use the secret doors in mine or the next room Have i done something wrong?

I know this is a lame question, but I can't get through the first room in the crypt. Anyone help me?
