Not downloading a registered copy of Exile 3 from website

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I have played through Exile 3 at various times but more recently I tried to go back through and play on my Mac through a VM. I got it on WINXP and have downloaded the game from the website and had to download the sound misc dat fix so that it loads correctly. However it is showing as an unregistered copy. Anyone know any solutions to this?

Thanks

Game code: 20471

Editor code: 4210

EDIT: Ohhhh, wait.  misc.dat is what stores the registration status, isn't it -- so using the sound fix means the old registration status is wiped.  Huh.  Not sure what to suggest there.

That's the link Falastur used.  The problem, I believe, is that using the sound fix (also described on that page) overwrites the auto-registration status that now comes with the game.

Then the alternative is email Spiderweb and see if Jeff still has the program to send a new registration code.

Is there a part of the Misc.dat that can be changed to only fix the sound issue and keep the registered copy?

Plus it gets into an area we aren't suppose to discuss. But I suppose you could try comparing the before and after file versions to see where there are differences. What you would want is an extremely small change for registration and the largest change would be the sound issue.
