Fledgling Fyora dinsdale
Either I haven't yet talked to the right NPC, or I've missed some important information in a dialogue, but... how do I recover vitality that is lost to wounds in Avadon 3? Vitality potions don't help. Thanks!
Hatchling Cockatrice Slawbug
Health (HP) and Vitality are two separate stats in Avadon 3. Vitality functions more like MP; you use it up (temporarily) to use special abilities. It will recharge automatically over time. To restore HP, you either need to use a healing ability or a healing potion. Does that help?

To restore HP, you either need to use a healing ability or a healing potion. Does that help? No, that doesn't really help. I've played the game for a while, and a red line has appeared in the blue bar which limits the character's vitality permanently to a lower level. For example, I cannot summon drakes anymore because that would require the character being at full vitality. On mouse over, a tooltip appears which says "X vitality lost to wounds". Is there anything I can do about this?
Kyshakk Koan googoogjoob
Vitality is automatically restored to max when you return to camp.
Fledgling Fyora dinsdale
Vitality is automatically restored to max when you return to camp. Thanks! It's so obvious, I should've thought of it myself. Yet I feel that this is something that could be mentioned somewhere in the instructions... I honestly spent like one hour trying to find information on this on the web and in the manual before just walking back to camp because of your answer. Hatchling Cockatrice Slawbug
I just did the same thing because I was so surprised to find this out. Turns out it is actually in the manual: "Damage and Unconsciousness When your character is hit, his or her health will go down. When it reaches zero, the character will fall unconscious. If all of your characters are unconscious, you will lose the game and return to the title screen. When you end combat with no foes nearby, all unconscious characters will return to life. All lost health will rapidly return to wounded characters. However, your maximum Vitality will be decreased until you return to your Hand camp. Damaged characters can be healed during combat with healing abilities and Potions of Healing. You can use one of the rare Resurrection Scrolls to revive unconscious characters in combat."
