Tenderfoot Thahd Morpheus
What is your preference?? Do you like the world to be connected as in A 4-6, Geneforge, and Avadon, or do you prefer to have a separate screen for the outdoors like A 1-3?? As for me, the one reason i am excited for the remakes is for this exact reason..

Garrulous Glaahk Questionably Legal
Outdoors all the way! The world seems bigger, there are random encounters, and travel is easier. nikki.
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
Outdoors all the way! The world seems bigger, there are random encounters, and travel is easier. Yes. But for me world scale is the biggest one. A4 and A6 feel far smaller than A1-2 despite covering the same geography. A5 avoids the problem by being all new territory. Yes, it feels like a smaller area, but that doesn't seem weird. And Silvar and Cotra aren't practically on top of each other. —Alorael, who doesn't really object to outdoors per se. He just thinks the scale of Avernum, established all the way back in Exile 1, does not work well with it.
Burgeoning Battle Gamma Languorous_Maiar
Without doubt outdoors. I mean, just look at this: [ After playing Avernum 1, Avernum 4 looks so small.
Rotghroth Rhapsody madrigan
Whole world same size. The outdoors-indoors transition completely de-immerses me as the scale of the universe mysteriously changes upon entering or exiting a town. Avernum seems huge without the separate outdoors anyway.
