Also tried talking my way past his minion to the west, but apparently "rules have been changed" and my credentials aren't good enough. Forced my way past the dummy (seemed like a reasonable solution at the time based on the dialog box), but after killing him and initial defenders am finding the whole area -even the lizards -hostile. Ineffable Wingbolt Mosquito---Slayer Posted June 17, 2013 Share Posted June 17, 2013 You can get to Melanchion from the south of Fort Monanstery, however you will need specific quest from the castle to do that, you can't go there before that without making the area hostile. I did that (w/o the quest) as an experiment thinking he might be the "key" for getting past the wheel. Guess it was for naught, and I'll have to back up.
