Transferring saved files to my other computer?

Mac

Recommended Posts

It depends upon the game since before Avadon the Mac and Windows versions used different save game formats. Otherwise you should be able to transfer games.

When all else fails try the support button on the page for a specific game starting here

Exile, the first Avernum trilogy, Blades of Exile, Blades of Avernum, Nethergate and Nethergate: Resurrection allowed you to locate files where ever you want. So those are the easiest to locate and move.

Geneforge, most of the second Avernum trilogy, and Avadon: the Black Fortress create a folder in Doucments for Mac and My Documents for Windows computers call Spiderweb Software or with the game name. However Geneforge 4 stored the saved games with the game in the Geneforge 4 files.

Now a Mac computer with OS 10.7

If you bought Avadon: The Black Fortress from the Mac App Store, your games are stored in the Application Support folder, which can be difficult to find. To open it, press Command-Shift-G to Go To Folder, enter "~/Library/Application Support/Spiderweb Software", and press return. Your saved games are in the folder "Avadon Saved Games." Open that folder and your saved games will be inside, in folders named 'Save0', 'Save1', etc.

For Win 7:

\Users\User\AppData\Local\Virtual Store\Program Files (x86)\Avernum 4\Data

Whereas Win XP:

C:\Program Files\Avernum 4\Data

Welcome to Spiderweb Software. Please leave your sanity at the door. Solutions to your problems will only cause you to lose it. :)
