Curious Artila TheMike
I've been playing Avernum 5 for about two weeks (woe to those of us who only have an hour or two a day of spare time on week days), and have finally gotten past the vahanati lands to the dragon's keep. Supposedly Dorikas is just past his land, but I've heard that a lot. Also, at what point will I have to choose sides? I managed to convince Ruth to talk to Dorikas about me(thanks Solberg! though it was hilarious how you can taunt him about stealing his scrolls - 'Solberg is suitably enraged'), but I want to see both endings without having to play an additional ten hours and hope I haven't already locked myself down a set path. Oh, and Melanchion is hilariously naive. I love how he was written.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
The next area is Dorikas controlled and you should be able to hold off a bit longer if you do Dorikas a favor. It comes down to a final boss battle with either Dorikas or his opponent. However you should be able to take advantage of some last minute training. Ineffable Wingbolt Erebus the Black
Also you need to refrain from killing one of his high commanders (I don't remember the name now) when he flees. Then save just before you enter Dorikas's keep and you should be able to replay both endings quickly.
Curious Artila TheMike
I really hope you're not referring to the Dervish that tried to kill me after I left the land of the anti-magic loonies.
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
Dervish Tholmen's his name. You can kill him and still join the Darkside Loyalists, as long as you do enough other stuff to help them out, but it does obviously mean that he won't show up later in the game to offer you cheap training. Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
you need to be friendly to Tholmen and later be friendly to that female mage who you'll meet at Vahnatai lands.
