Fledgling Fyora Ika
I recently remembered myself playing these games when I was young, so I redownloaded the demo and played and fell in love enough again to buy it. The problem is I played for a long time in the demo and don't want to start over. I went into the program files' geneforge (this is geneforge 1) and moved all the saves there into the my documents' geneforge folder and nothing happened. My saves did not port over. I took a look in the program files' save folders only to find that they only have a tmp file, nothing else. Surely these are not my saves? Where are my demo saves for Geneforge 1 and where do I put them to play in the Steam version on Windows 7?
Fledgling Fyora Ika
Wow, took me a long time to figure out Basically the saves in data folder are dummies. The actual ones are found in the hidden folder app data in a special virtual copy of your program files (I have no idea why any program would go to such trouble to hide those files )
Unflappable Drayk adc.
Yeesh. That was a coincidence... ---------------- Welcome to Spiderweb software. Finding the save files at %appdata% minecraft will cause in the losing of sanity...
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
its a feature in win vista/7, if prog doesn't have perms to write to program files then that virtual copy is made.
