Not sure that is true. I went into Spire toting 33 ales, I got the mission and sold them, but was left with 3 and told the mission was complete when I tried to sell the rest. I also bought 83 bottles of wine in Almaria and tried to sell them to Bill and only was able to sell 40 of them. Note that I had already sold a substantial amount of wine (but probably less than 40 bottles) to Bill by this point. So the way I think this works is that if you have any left to sell, you can sell up to the maximum total for the mission in one go, but no more. So if you have sold < 40 Wine to Bill in Fort Draco, you can sell 40 more in one go, but that is all. So in reality you can sell up to 79 bottles of wine or 59 bottles of ale if you plan it just right. In early betas it used to work like Randomizer said. This was abusable, particularly back when Bill gave 20 gold per bottle of wine while one could buy an arbitrary amount of wine for 19 gold per bottle in Almaria. I bought over 300 bottles of wine in Almaria and sold them all in Fort Draco, making a profit and gaining half a level of experience for my level 18 party. Since the Jeff seems to have tweaked it. At any rate getting it beyond 6, which will get you most caches and entrance to Athron's Lair. (or can you go around by ship?) I guess you get the replenishable Mandrake at 10 but is that really worth the extra 4 skill points? The +2 ring requires 11 CL, and the highest CL you need for anything is 12... so that's kind of stupid. EDIT: Also, am I reading this right, that you need 10 TU to access the TU trainer? I think I walked past it without noticing it somewhere in the west part of the game. Cave Lore (CL) 10 gets you the replenishable Mandrake so you can make an unlimited supply of Wisdom Crystals. It's also needed for a few other potions that I didn't use. With no level cap and lots of patience you can make a more powerful party for torment level playing. Cave Lore 5 gets you replenishable Energetic Herbs to make more speed potions and elixirs for extra action points. You can reach Athron's Lair by boat and that's the recommended method. The CL 11 and 12 caches aren't worth the effort. Jeff added them at the end when we found he was missing some caches. The Tool Use trainer has two doors and one was TU 10. What's grindy is it takes 5 Wisdom Crystals to level up and about 2 trips around Avernum for enough time to pass to get more herbs. No Tool Use to get to the trainer. I feel this is the fault of the bozos in the English royal academy or what not, for splitting the similar meanings and adding to each form a completely different meaning. When you have the quest in your quest log and the map in your special items inventory, clicking on Captain Scarlet should give you a notice that you've completed the quest and you'll get XP and a reward (don't recall the specific reward right now). It's well hidden by the brown rock spires below the red spires which are below the drinking hole where you get attacked by the lizards, the item is Radiate ice scroll, but ive not checked the CL req. yet, can someone confirm this? Garrulous Glaahk wackypanda Posted September 20, 2015 Share Posted September 20, 2015 I found a Charmed Plate (28% armor, +5% chance to evade attacks, -15% hit chance, +3% melee damage, +6% HER) after fighting the humans in the Spire arena, although I'm not sure which of them dropped it.
