Avadon - Kva swallowed by darkness!

So I'm up to Kva, early part of the demo. I quicksaved and decided to exist after killing a bunch of rats in the south-east "cave"(?) area. When I came back, I got this:

 

 

The ground appears to be black, and the gameplay is severely lagged - so much that it does not appear to respond to mouse clicks. Keyboard commands still work, albeit with a delayed reaction, and the whole experience is generally unpleasant.

 

Referring to an autosave doesn't appear to fix the problem, nor does reducing the draw graphics system, nor does saving over the quicksave at Avadon and travelling over again. Please fix.

I suspect one of your game's graphics files has become corrupted. Throw away your copy, download a fresh copy from our web site, and install. If that still doesn't help, go back to a saved game from before entering that zone.

yet if he destroyed it he has to start all over again! and what if he doesnt have another save file

Try completely exiting the game and restarting from your last save or autosave. That sometimes removes the problem.

 

The saved game files are stored separately from the game files and aren't destroyed when you get a new copy of the game.

This happened to me when I drank from Redbeard's basin. Seems appropriate here though.
