Curious Artila Nevermore
Hi to everyone, As Jeff did with the first three episodes of Geneforge saga, is it possible to do an upgrade, to run fully compatible the first trilogy of Avernum on newer Macs with 10.4, 10.5 and next? Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
I think that Jeff is holding out until the remake of Avernum.
Ineffable Wingbolt Arch-Mage Solberg
So it's true then...He's really remaking the 2nd Trilogy?
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
Yes. Eventually. —Alorael, who would rate the announcement as more of an update from "probably gonna happen" to "seriously, guys, this thing is definitely on the back burner now." It's not as though Jeff has touched code, picked a release date, or called for beta testers.
Ineffable Wingbolt Arch-Mage Solberg
I thought as much. I read two days ago that it could happen. Then the first thing I read today is someone saying that it is happening. I thought it weird since the new game is still in the works! Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
It takes Jeff less time to remake an existing game with a slightly different game engine than to make a completely new game. That's why he release Nethergate: Resurrection in between Geneforge 4 and Avernum 5. The time wasters are new content so older players have a reason to buy a new version and rebalancing the game to reflect the new game engine. After all the first 3 Avernum games didn't have battle disciplines or area effect spells.

I don't care that much for battle disciplines, but a Spiderweb game just isn't complete without AoE spells.
