Although...I'm halfway hoping I get to substitute as Harosh, and also Xuan, so that I can claim to have played as every character in Brigandage (so far I've done Casper, Iliau, Erika, and even the now-defunct Anthony).

Here, you can borrow the Nullifier I took from Reed Richards. He tells me it's a remarkable stopgap measure against gaping plotholes.

...Okay, I'm really sorry for all the procrastination on this front. Anyway, the LOG OF SESSION 8 is up. Also, we have a new CALENDAR!

Sadly, the site is not updated yet, which brings me to my next point. Apparently, Wordpad decided to be a [censored]... Which is why I have the stats and inventory from session 7, rather than 8. So if you could please PM me your inventory and current HP/Stamina totals, I would be extremely grateful. Thanks.

I don't think that would have helped. Not one but TWO sets of dice were misbehaving that session. The RNG just hated them that time around.

Okay, I think we've got a date. TUESDAY THE 15th will be Brigandage Session #9. See you there!

...It's like life is conspiring against your AIMHacking. frown

Anyway, thinking about it, I've decided against changing the Diplomacy skills. Right now, I think we're too far in to make radical changes. However, I will be implementing and trying out a Diplomacy Combat System. Never fear, the system should be mostly invisible to the players.

Anyway, remember: I need people to PM me about their character's current health/stamina and inventories. Please do so, if at all possible. Otherwise, it's going to be numbers and results pulled from the log, and those results may be egregiously wrong.

Okay, so the session has come to a close. There were no levels this time, but lots of plot. Logs and quotes to come within the next 3 days.

But, onto more sobering news. Sadly, Ephesos has to leave, which leaves Harosh without a player. Now, he's kindly offered Harosh up to a willing player (though he warns that someone who accepts will likely get a moderate infodump landed on them). So if you're interested in player a pre-made character (sort of), give a shout! I'd rather not have to delegate him to the realm of a DMPC.

AIMHack is basically a simple role-playing game system, designed by Ephesos. Instead of being for "tabletop" role-playing, however, this system was devised specially intended for play over instant messaging program (e.g. AIM, hence the name AIMHack). I believe Eph has said somewhere on his site that some aspects of the system were inspired by D&D. It is, at least from my point of view as a novice role-player, delightfully simple and easy to use.

Anyway, the log for session nine is now up. It is the shortest one yet! Or maybe I have just gotten more efficient in handling RTFs. Meh, either way.

Also, Triumph is now in for Harosh. Many thanks to Triumph for filling in for this great character, and I wish him luck.

Oh, an extra bit of good news. I think I have finally got all the damage from the Wordpad incident sorted out. So, after the next session, look for a site update, complete with updated inventories! And remember, the next session is THIS TUESDAY. See you there!

Why the morse code? Because I haven't slept since yesterday and am way too hopped up on caffeine to realize what a horrible idea it is.

Well, the log was interesting (I was able to spectate the last half of the session, but missed the first part where they found cool stuff and nearly blew up) and definitely sets the stage for some interesting conflict. Does Darusk have character info posted anywhere (stuff like skills and character background)?

As for the Morse Code, .. - .... .. -. -.- -.. --- --- .-. ... .-- --- ..- .-.. -.. .-.. .. -.- . - .-. --- ..- - -... . - - . .-. .-.-.-

Nah. People might think it's gibberish.

However, I did just figure out how to represent foreign or alien languages in AIMHack. Thanks for that!

Probably wouldn't be ROT13, though. Otherwise, you could just decode it to figure out what others are saying. But still, it makes a passably convincing line of dialogue for a session.

I really hope it's not TOO hard. It would be really embarrassing if I got Harosh killed after volunteering to play him. blush Of course, some of the difficulty can be not-totally-lethal puzzles. So maybe we won't get swarmed by dire boom eagles of mass smiting who can only be defeated by spells cast using Morse Code...maybe.

"Well, I did have a 50-50 chance of geting it right, which was better than nothing..."

EDIT: The regrettably side effect of reading this post is that you will now hear all of Dikiyob's posts read out in Sean Connery's voice for the next, oh, month.

I was going to ask why you didn't already, but then I remembered that you have never met Dikiyoba.

...Sorry, but there's been a change in plan. I just received an e-mail from my internet provider. They're going down for maintenance at 8:00 PM, meaning that a session is effectively out of the picture. I (and by extension, you) would have had greater advance notice if I checked my e-mail more often, but unfortunately, I just found out about this 10 minutes ago. frown

So... Yeah. Unfortunately, instead of a session, it looks like you're just getting a calendar. I apologize for the inconvenience... hopefully, we can schedule the next session for a relatively recent date. The bright side is, the site (and by extension, the roster) will get updated before the next session, rather than after.
