Unflappable Drayk Zummi
Is it relevant to continue to up this besides countering the encumbering effect of heavy armor? Does it provide something else in the long run? I've got 13 points in it, no items and I still get an AP penalty.
Understated Ur-Drakon Nioca
It does provide a bonus to evade. Additionally, combined with Dexterity, the Defense skill unlocks Parry. But I'd say 13 is plenty.
Unflappable Drayk Zummi
And I just found out that I need 15 points in it to negate the penalty. Of course, I only need that when I'm equipping a spear and shield.
Easygoing Eyebeast Enraged Slith
Although defense gives 5% dodge per point, you're better off boosting that rate with other skills. Dexterity is probably the best overall investment in the game, or, at least, tied with Luck.
Unflappable Drayk Zummi
I'm not looking to invest, I'm just bumping it up to negate the AP penalty.
Magnificent Ornk Ephesos
Yeah, some of the encumbrance penalties out there are pretty crazy.
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
here is an idea: don't wear so much damn armour, it's mostly useless anyway
Easygoing Eyebeast The Mystic
I prefer to keep my armor to a minimum; because I cast a lot of mage spells, I can't wear much armor anyway due to the encumbrance.
Unflappable Drayk Zummi
Well, I'm using Priest Spells, so encumbrance spell penalty doesn't really matter.
Understated Ur-Drakon Celtic Minstrel
And if you were using mage spells, the Natural Mage ability would also render the encumbrance spell penalty useless... I think.
