Curious Artila The Lost Anvil
Before everything is working fine, but now i go to open a saved game and it says: "This is not an Avernum saved game". Any ideas? This is the second time this has happened and i really, really don't want to restart again. EDIT: Also comes up with message saying something about graphic 3001 missing... Well-Actually War Trall Ishad Nha
G3001 is the Spiderweb Software splash screen. Check in your Avernum 1 folder that it is still there. If not re-install A1 to some other area of your computer and retrieve the graphic. I don't know what the problem might be with the saved game, I have never had such a problem. It is not write-protected by any chance. Again if you were on Vista there might be problems.
Curious Artila The Lost Anvil
Checked it, and I have it. I use XP btw.
Understated Ur-Drakon Celtic Minstrel
Worst-case scenario is that the save file is corrupted. Another possibility is that it somehow became read-only. There may be other possibilities too.
Unflappable Drayk Toby-Linn
Why don't you reinstall Avernum again and see whether that fixes the problem?
Curious Artila The Lost Anvil
Done it twice already.
Unflappable Drayk Toby-Linn
Is the name of the file "avernum.sav"? also, is it in the default location that Avernum saves the game? sorry, I can't think of anything else. Maybe if you started a new game, and saved with the default name and location, then moved your old saved game to that location?
Magnificent Ornk nikki.
If you have saved games for other Avernum games in the same folder, make sure that you're not loading them by mistake. I think that the first three games just create a save file which is called "avernum.sav" by default.
Understated Ur-Drakon Celtic Minstrel
But you can change the name, too. I'd assume you would do that?
Magnificent Ornk nikki.
Yes, it is possible to change the name; I was just trying to help.

Understated Ur-Drakon Celtic Minstrel
I assume you haven't been playing Avernum 2 or 3 recently and accidentally saved over it...
Curious Artila The Lost Anvil
Played Avernum 2 for a little bit, but I'm dead sure I didn't save over it.
