  1. The Wand of Many Guises, what a great troll item. I actually took it as a reference to other games that let you change your appearance by wearing different sets of armour, but don't end up changing the way NPCs act toward you at all. Maybe that's reading too much into it. Either way walking around as an ogre or a demon is fun.

  3. If you find using the mouse is really problematic, you could always set up accessibility shortcuts in your OS to use the numeric keypad to control the mouse cursor. Not really a solution but could be better than nothing. If you wanted to get really clever, there are programs like AutoHotkey that can do custom remapping of input devices, so that pressing a numpad key moves the cursor the distance of one grid in-game grid space... but that's probably a lot more trouble than it's worth.

If you're interested I made a hack that lets you play with 4 or 5 characters in your party at once. Makes the game much easier, but if you're not playing at the hardest difficulty already, you can compensate well enough. http://www.spiderwebforums.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/267212 As for classes, I find them all fairly balanced. I'd probably have to say the Sorceress is the least useful, only because she really fits one role of direct damage, though she is very good at it. If I were using a party of 3 characters with one class doubled, the Sorceress is the only one where both characters would fill mostly the same purpose.
  5. I know the stuff you get from Nicodemus is meant to be a joke but I end up using most of it. Besides those silly bricks of course. I would wear the blinking pants all game if they gave a better armour bonus.
  6. Check your inventory for extra bricks... then get rid of that magical bulwark you got from Nicodemus.
  7. I don't know, I haven't played Avernum (apart from some of the demos) but I'm finding quite a few system abuse tricks in Avadon. Unhittable Dex-build characters is the obvious one, but not the only one. You can't escape most bosses but you can lure just about any enemies in a group away to fight them one at a time...
  8. Yep, it's just a script hack, and as far as I know should work on any version that lets you replace/modify script files.

So in those situations you miss out on some dialogue. In other cases, you get everyone piping in with their thoughts. I sort of expect that in one or two places there might be too much dialogue to fit onto one page, and I don't know what will happen there.
  10. Firebolt is the basic attack for Natalie, the one you get when you just click to attack normally. It's not something that comes up in the abilities menu. Putting more points into that ability makes the attack do more damage. When you get 6 points into Firebolt then you also get access to Icy Lance as an ability. In short, not a bug
  11. Hi, just finished Avadon after buying it for Linux through the Humble Bundle. I played on Torment, it was "sufficiently hard." After beating it I thought it would be fun to see if there was a way to play the whole game with all the characters at the same time. Following the examples from the Character Editors on this board, it turned out to be a pretty easy hack. Disclaimers: Completely unsupported, use at your own risk. Makes the game MUCH MUCH easier, way too easy even on Torment if you care about a challenge at all. Not recommended for a first playthrough. Playing with only one extra character, so you can use one of each class, isn't too bad... Probably will result in some bugs. Known issues include: When you return from the dungeons you might have other characters following you on the main floor. To fix, return to the dungeons alone, and then come back up. Download from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?sivbmrepbq13ki4 To install, unzip and copy all the z* files to your scripts directory. If you use the Advanced Character Editor, first delete the file z3goldcragdlg.txt and rename the file z3goldcragdlg_editor.txt to z3goldcragdlg.txt Once installed, clicking on a pylon will give you the option to call other Hands to join your party. You can also ask Eye Mamora for more Hands to help in the dungeon. Asking characters already present to join you doesn't seem to have any ill effects. I've only tested it a little, but it seems to work fine. I don't know that I'm going to play it for too much longer, at least right now. As I said, it's really easy... Have fun! v1.1 update: fixed bug with Khemeria
