If you don't know what actually happened, you could delete gf5itemschars.txt, redownload the geneforge demo and repair the files (on Steam, I think it's verify cache or something, but I'm not sure). After the repair, you can search for carnelian gloves again, but this time, replace the word itself, don't touch the spaces or the semicolons, or the end quotes. From Geneforge 1-5, I've always chosen Shaper because they call you "Shaper" regardless of what you choose, plus the story revolves around the shapers. Achtung! Unnecessary ranting below v.v I've played Shaper in Geneforge 1, but I die in one to four hits. I've rarely played guardian and never played agent.

Well, it worked for my Sony Vegas Pro 9, that's what I did 2-4 years ago on some program demos a handful to be precise. But I'm not sure about the newer Vegas Pro 12

Well, if you think you're up for Vegas' demo, and want it for longer than a month, you can always change your time to an earlier point, yeah, it's kind of a hack, but if you're still willing to learn, I think that would be a legit reason. As long as you don't abuse it and all.

Well, the best I've used is Sony Vegas Pro, but it's quite expensive. The good side is the demo is for 30 days. If you're a beginner, I would not recommend this, as it took me some time figuring out what's this from that. Windows Movie Maker also works too, unfortunately, it no longer exists in Win 7 and 8, and only "Windows Live Movie Maker". It's not a movie maker if you'd ask me. There's also a demo for Camtasia. That's all I could think of, others require you to pay and stuff.

Maybe, if someone would coach me or atleast teach me the mechanics, that'd be great.
