Editing the scripts is cheating...Which is the opposite of playing for a challenge. But different strokes for different folks ...I guess.

These penalties seem a little severe ( if I am understanding them correctly ). If you deck your fighter out in heavy armor..the cumalative to hit penalties will be 50% or more. I am carrying around a bunch of heavy armor at the moment ( my characters are all level 17 ) but still wearing iron breastplates, and iron greaves as I do no want to swing and miss on a constant basis. Or do I have this wrong..Is this a penalty on the wearer, or the mob attacking the wearer. In which case I am making the game a lot harder for myself than it needs to be.

After playing on hard for awhile it seems just about the right difficulty. The difficulty is more in line with the challenge from previous games. Maybe just a touch more difficult but still I like it a lot more.

Yes....I guess I will try the hard setting. I was afraid that then I would become frustrated becuase the game was to difficult.

Have only died once up to level 9, and that was because I was not paying attention due to lack of challenge This game seems to be much easier that previous Avernum games. My fighters are regularly hitting in the 50-100 range, and 1 hit killing everything. I am in the Nephilim fort near Formello at the moment. Previous Avernums would have me going back quite often to towns to ressurect characters. The game is good . But I might lose interst through lack of challenge. And from what I have been reading hard is the opposite, presenting to much challenge.

It would be awesome if these games where redone with the new engine used in Avernum 6. Replaying 3 now after many years and the graphics and combat just fills so antiquated. It would be good however to keep the zoomed out main map when moving not in towns and dungeons. I like that better. I would sure purchase the Triology again.

I really do not like this guy but it seems I have to do his bidding to proceed through the game at this point. Plus he gives me nice ability gifts for completing quests. I am at this point wanting to help Astoria who wants to make friends with the Rebels. I just gave Rawal the info about the Shadow Road but it seems I am really working against Astoria at this point. Don't know what to do.
