  1. I haven't played A:EftP, but commenting on rpg's in general, I love a challenge. I always start on the highest difficulty, then do what I like. If it turns out I didn't make my party right, I don't quit and try again, but rather try the best I can to adapt. Does A:EftP make that difficult or something?

  4. Arrgh!! This makes me so mad/sad. I have played only the demos of the Geneforge series, yet I immensely enjoyed each one. Neither A:EftP, A6, or Avadon run on my computer (Windows XP), so I can't rightly judge for or against those either. Also, I've only played the demo of Nethergate and haven't the faintest clue what this talk of Nethergate: Resurrection is. How long will this poll be up? Once I buy all the Geneforge series, Nethergate, and all the Exile games, buy a better computer, and play through each of those games, then I can give you an honest answer. For now, A3 is my favorite. Then A2, and then BoA.
  5. Darn, I found this thread too late, now it is basically closed. @Dintiradan, Wesnoth is not Age of Empires.
  6. My favorite Spiderweb game was Avernum 3. I thought that it was extremely non-linear, as you didn't have to destroy the plagues in any particular order, and there was still plenty of other things to do in between. However, I've only played the demos of Geneforge 1, 2 and 4, so I am definitely biased.
  7. I have five scenarios I would like to release and need some betatesting done first. Here are the descriptions of each: Bank of Avernum: This is a utility scenario where you can store gold between scenarios. The Blades Arena: This is not fully completed, but the main part, the arena, is. I thought, since I don't get on the internet often, that I would include what I've finished so far. Playground for the Pyromaniac: You get to blow stuff up! The Battle for Gale: A single large combat where you can command your allies. Try to Beat This Scenario: This is supposed to be impossible, even for god parties made by the HLPM. It has some scripting things I wanted to test. Please respond soon if you want to betatest.
  8. I have several scenarios that I want to release (there are people who still play this 'ancient' game) but need a website to upload them to. Would anyone be willing to host my scenarios? I have four scenarios (albeit small ones) in four folders, adding up to about 2.75 MB. I have limited time to use the internet, so I have to do this quickly.
  9. I have work on several scenarios, I just need to finish one. Also, where could I post the sample script?
  10. I recently made a system for a scenario I'm working on that automatically levels up all monsters in a scenario to around the party's level based on the creature's level itself. For instance, a level 25 creature is leveled to about the same level as the party, wheareas a level 5 is about half their level and a level 50 unit is twice as much. Basically all I did was make a while statement that cycled through each creature, placed it on a point on the current map and then checked its level relative to that of the party. Then I used the call that levels all creatures of that type. I thought that this system was nice for small scenarios where the reward could also be modified per level, like 10 to 20 different swords for a certain level group each. That way, you didn't have to find or make the right level party and you could reenter it with differents types and levels of parties. Is there any interest in this kind of thing?
  11. One last question. I only have Windows. Can I convert my scenario to a Mac version, so that I can share it with everyone? I've read in the BOA editor documentation that the only real difference between the two versions is the way the graphic sheets are compiled.
  12. Great, thanks. How then do I get volunteers to test the part of the scenario I do have finished?
  13. Hello, I am a new member for this forum. I am making a new scenario, a very large, real world size one, as outlined not to make in Kelandon's sight. However, I have made great progress in my scenario, and I am thinking of posting it as a work in progress, with a small portion of the scenario's universe revealed and the rest you can't reach yet. Should I do this, and if it is acceptable, how do I post scenarios in the first place?
