I made sure to say that and I know I initiated combat from dialog and that line is the only way to do so. I'm many hours and quests past killing him though since I only went back to Gladwell when I reached Melanchion. Le sigh

So I'm on my second run through A5 trying to min/max everything. I waited an extremely long time to accept Gladwell's geas, taking it after I had acquired the perfect crystal spiral (didn't give it to Gladwell). I then accepted the geas, collected the drake skin (without going back to Gladwell), went to the Vahnatai lands and got the geas message saying that I need the crystal chip. Because I had planned on killing Epriron-Bok but also wanted to complete the message to Melanchion quest before slaughtering the Vahnatai, I proceeded down the dark river without the chip, taking the negative geas and thinking I would get it removed when I went back, killed Epriron, and gave the chip to Gladwell (which is what the entry for the negative geas says in Special Items). I did that, went to Gladwell thinking I would give him the drake skin and chip, getting the negative geas removed, (saving the other items for Melanchion) but instead I only have the option to give him the perfect crystal spiral and the skin. Is this quest bugged? Any possible solutions? This is driving me up the wall.
