  1. I guess mostly stuff on the forums. For example, from Synergy's List The way Elonna's part was written implied that Health Circle could be increased only to level 4, where in my game it was lvl 5. And the other two were slightly confusing to me since since it implies that Moira wasn't avaible to Romans since it only specified a price for Celts while the Librarian specified it for both. Randomizer's post in http://spiderwebforu...n-maxing-in-nr/ also reinforced that. It kinda messed me up since I used sp on health/war circle when I would have bought them instead had I known. I just fixed it with the editor but I decided to get the actual values myself so I didn't have to worry about anything else.
  2. I recently did a bunch of research before starting my first playthrough of the Roman side of the game. After actually playing through some of it, I realized a bunch of info was slightly wrong or stuff was left out. Maybe it's because it was written for just the Celts or for a different version (mine is v1.0.1b). Anyways I thought I might as well format and post the relevant info I already gathered as to help out the next person. I haven't actually finished the game yet, so if any info is wrong, let me know. ______________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________ Gnaeus [shadow Valley Fort] (Extremely Cheap): Hardiness (4) Defense (4) First Aid (6) Herbcraft (6) Tool Use (6) Woodscraft (4) Barter (1) Elonna [Near Goblin Marshes] (Slightly Expensive): Health Circle(5) Shaynee [spire Woods] (Slightly Expensive): Herbcraft(8) Moira [Hagfen] (Expensive): Druidism(4) Health Circle(2) War Circle(2) Beast Circle(1) Craft Circle(1) Shanti [Northwest Vale] (Exorbitant): Melee Weapons(5) Defense(5) Druidism(5) Herbcraft(6) Faerie Lore(1) Morden [Hollow Hills] (Exorbitant): Melee Weapons(6) Spears(6) Javelins(6) Slings(6) Hardiness(6) Defense(6) Scrolls: 2nd Runic Scroll (group) => Woodscraft(+1) 3rd Runic Scroll (group) => First Aid(+1) 4th Runic Scroll (group) => Faerie Lore(+1) 5th Runic Scroll (group) => Druidism(+1) Craft Circle Scroll (single use) => Craft Cricle(+3) Beast Circle Scroll (single use) => Beast Circle(+3) ______________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________ For Min Maxers (using cheapest path when available): Skills with no trainers or scrolls: Strength Dexterity Intelligence Endurance Armor Use Roman Training Luck Melee.............Morden(0->6)......................................[18,480g] Spears............Morden(0->6)......................................[18,480g] Javelins..........Morden(0->6)......................................[18,480g] Slings............Morden(0->6)......................................[18,480g] Hardiness.........Gnaeus(0->4)..Morden(4->6)........................[12,080g] Defense...........Gnaeus(0->4)..Morden(4->6)........................[12,080g] Druidism..........Moira(0->4)...Shanti(4->5)..5thRunicScroll(5->6)..[11,600g] Health Circle.....Elonna(0->5)......................................[11,700g] War Circle........Moira(0->2).......................................[3,270g] Beast Circle......Moira(0->1)...Beast Circle Scroll(1->4)...........[1,440g] Health Circle.....Moira(0->1)...Health Circle Scroll(1->4)..........[1,440g] First Aid.........Gnaeus(0->6)..3rd Runic Scroll(6->7)..............[3,150g] Herbcraft.........Gnaeus(0->6)..Shaynee(6->8).......................[4,410g] Tool Use..........Gnaeus(0->6)......................................[3,780g] Woodscraft........Gnaeus(0->4)..2nd Runic Scroll(4->5)..............[300g] Barter............Gnaeus(0->1)......................................[30g] Faerie Lore.......Shanti(0->1)..4th Runic Scroll(1->2)..............[660g]

  4. Well, with the new screenshots I see that the minimap hasn't changed from avernum 6, and I'm wondering why. I thought that the lack of detail of the new minimap in avernum 6 might have been due to time constraints or something, but with the new game I expected that there would have been a much better minimap. Ever since avernum 4, the minimap system has been getting worse, maybe people just didn't appreciate the minimap as much as I did and so it was decided that the time spent on it wasn't very efficient. With the new minimap in avernum 4 and 5, there was significantly less detail and the entire map lost its usually vibrant colors and became rather bland, and thus, for me at at least, the gameplay felt the same. Then with 6, all the detail was scraped as well as most of the fog of war mechanic. I would say the minimap was pretty much the whole reason why I didn't really play the new avernum games after the first trilogy. It seems like it will take a while for Avadon to come out, so does anyone think there might be some further work in the minimap till then? I would like to think so but I don't want to get my hopes up.
  5. The the four guys I use most of the time when playing Avernum: http://img693.imageshack.us/img693/2569/characterchoices.jpg I only use the nephil and slith as well with my party, usually because of the ingame advantages but they generally look better to me as well. The portrait that I think is the coolest by far is #1, the slith priest looking guy. What I love about him is the amazing color scheme, the amount of detail, the lighting, and the way his face is underneath the hood just looks badass. Everything just seems perfect. I would totally love it if every character was made to look that amazing. Anyways, good luck on remaking the portraits, looks great so far!
