Well, i managed to make it work after reinstalling windows. Either my system was infected or too old and got some troubles in C++ runtime and registry...anyway, soon after installing geneforge i got a couple of bsods and decided to make a reinstall. Now everything works fine. Sorry for troubling the community. Dreamqueen - you may also have problems with windows itself.

I have done those already.

I tried downloading it again and reinstalling but it's the same problem.

Well, i reinstalled it and it's the same. But it installed without any problems and the first launch went fine.

The usual windows message, like "send a report"

Downloaded it, launched it once but now it starts, shows spiderweb logo and then crashes. Restarting and driver update didn't help. WinXP on dell dimension 5000 but the videocard is x1950Pro.
