  1. Well, I wish they'd recycle the anvils instead of losing them! *glares at X*

Hate being rushed through the game to fix things in case you miss anything in those towns when they go boom.
  3. We still haven't heard of the Dragons supposed "vengeance" yet... Perhaps that will make an appearance in A6? Would be rather ironic if the hoard of evil sliths turned out to be more exiles from the good sliths... can't wait to find out the real reason for them.
  4. Played Avernum 2 for a little bit, but I'm dead sure I didn't save over it.

Maybe if you started a new game, and saved with the default name and location, then moved your old saved game to that location? Yes and yes. EDIT: Also noticed that both problems happen after i quit after destroying the orb in the abyss.
  6. Before everything is working fine, but now i go to open a saved game and it says: "This is not an Avernum saved game". Any ideas? This is the second time this has happened and i really, really don't want to restart again. EDIT: Also comes up with message saying something about graphic 3001 missing...
  7. Using text dump i got this: "McDonald's RationsMcDonald sells fine examples of Avernite cuisine. This means that his goods will sustain life, but not happiness or hope. Surely someone here will get it.
  8. In Avernum 3 theres a man name "McDonald" in one of the upper avernum towns (forgot which) and when you buy something... I won't spoil it for you, check it out.
  9. Something I'd like to see if an Avernum: Origins ever comes out... It being made with something like A3 graphics.
  10. Tried increasing priority, all it seems to accomplish is crashing the computer. As for upgrading the hardware I can't exactly afford to do so, much as I'd like to.
  11. I have all programs closed before running Geneforge 5, so it isn't that. When checking task manager it seems Geneforge 5 chews through a lot of memory. Is there anyway I can fix this?
  12. I've got all the fast graphics stuff on and it doesn't help much. I find this annoying because I can play more graphically demanding games without any problems. I think memory is the problem here as opposed to graphics.
  13. Intel® Extreme Graphics 2 is my GPU and I use XP.
  14. Bugger. Never used to have this problem on my Mac, but for some reason this is different for windows. The normal arrowkeys work for A3 but not A1 or A2.
  15. Ah, guess I should have mentioned that I am currently using a Windows computer. I have half a gigabyte of ram and a 2.8GHz processor as well. This is really bugging me because I have been looking forward to this game for a long time.
  16. Hey, I am still suffering a rather laggy game experience whilst playing Geneforge 5 and am wondering if it is possible to increase the memory allocation to Geneforge 5, if so how can i do this?
  17. Is there anyway to change the controls in Avernum so that I can use the arrowkeys without going up, down, left and right? It is really awkward using the number pad to go N,S,E,W. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
  18. I have it installed, and in a few small areas it works smoothly, but in most areas and especially combat its very slow and laggy. I know you've already done heaps to try and help those of us with inadequate hardware and I've tried all the steps, but is there any possible way to help make the game run smoother?
  19. EDIT: Turns out it can open and play, but its still very slow.
  20. Hi, Geneforge 5 is still a little bit too choppy for me. I have tried using the DirectX version but it comes up with the following error: "This application has failed to start because d3dx9_32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." After seeing this message I re-installed Geneforge 5 but it has had no effect.
  21. This has fixed a few flaws, but combat still seems a little slow, especially if you are fighting with a creation.
  22. I have tried this out and to my great pleasure it works! Thank you Jeff! EDIT: It is still a bit slow in combat for some reason though. Same goes with menus and convos and such.
  23. Ok, I have the following: Operating system: Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Processor: Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 2.80GHz Graphics card/Video card (both come up with this): Intel® 82865G Graphics Controller
