  1. Since other people have noticed it as well, here are my specs: Chrome 31.0.1650.63 on OS X 10.9.1. The same occurs in Safari 7.0.1, but I noticed that in only occurs (on both browsers) when I'm signed in.
  2. For the last few days, I've had a weird bunch of code error-y stuff showing up at the top of the General forum. I know I've personally had issues with the forums before, issues that no one else seems to have. They only happen in Sylo, so for now I'm just changing to a different theme. Just curious if anyone else has seen this problem or if it's something on my end (don't know what it would be, but hey...).
  3. I saw Gravity and thought it was a pretty nice film, although I agree that it really wasn't full of plot. Thor II was fantastic - so much better than the first. I'd like to see Frozen and the second Hobbit movie before the end of the year, so I'll lay low here to avoid spoilers. I'm sure I've seen other movies, but honestly, 12 months is about 6 times more than my memory can handle.
  4. I have a sore throat, and I run an in-house spotlight for a theater production at my school. I was the only light on the stage for 10 minutes and held back a cough the entire time.
  5. Please, we all know the best part bit of pi is the last bit.
  6. This is terrifying! Alorael in charge of things? But more importantly, what's going to happen to his custom title?
  7. If I had both money and my own room, I would own the entire Lego Star Wars collection. (also, how do I quote a post that has a quote already without losing the original quote?)
  8. I realized a few years that my wishlists are not filled almost entirely with practical items: things that I'll buy for myself out of necessity otherwise. I also realized a few years ago that I'm entirely too young to be this old.
  9. You realize that now you will never get a custom title?
  10. Time is the main reason why I don't play much Catan anymore, and particularly why the expansions are rarely touched. College students seem to have a knack for making a Catan game last as long as an intense game of Monopoly.
  11. I've never really played any Catan expansions. I little bit of Seafarers and Cities and Knights, but only just. I think there's a new expansion that a friend of mine has. I'm eager to try it.
  12. Extra Credits just did their first episode in a two-parter on collectable games, although not limited to cards. They put up some interesting views, and the comments tend to put up interesting views from the opposite side of things. I wonder what people here think about games that require continuous investment. I played Dominion a bit last year and really enjoyed it. It scratched the deck-building itch in a very different way, but that way happens to be very good. I agree with Alorael that the game design is excellent. Starting everyone off on the same playing field and having well-balanced yet varied cards makes every game fun.
  13. I'm not sure Alorael was supposed to be deprived, per se, but rather that he just never got one in the first place. Upon gaining the power to give himself one, he didn't (at least, for a long while). EDIT: and so another thread has become dedicated to the mythos of Alorael.
  14. We all know that Postmaster General was, for all intents and purposes, your custom title. Also, you're getting a bit close to Your Postliness. The post count needs to be raised.
  15. People like mysterious figures in hooded cloaks. Is it that surprising?
  16. The Resident Heads in my dorm have two young boys (2 and <1), so they came through the dorm. What with it being full of college students and all, they brought candy for anyone that didn't have any. The boys were adorable. Best Halloween ever.
  17. The fact that my computer is currently being repaired and my ~10 year old laptop can't run this game... I am so sad right now. I actually have nothing to do for the rest of the night, and I can't stand not having Avadon 2!
  18. Must have been '02 or '03. My dad picked up a CD called "Ten for X Games" that had a bunch of games for the latest and greatest Mac OS. Geneforge 1 was on it. I fell in love. Based on my join date, I finally got around to going to Spiderweb's website a few years later. Found Geneforge 2 and maybe 3 at the time. Found the forums. Haven't left since.
  19. Blood, sweat, and tears. The sweat and tears are clear.
  20. This seems relevant. And to contribute a little, although not on the original topic: I'm in my second year undergraduate in the States. I've really enjoyed some of the core requirement classes. It's really nice to expand my horizons beyond the scope of grade school. I'm better able to understand and appreciate things from other disciplines.
  21. Nikki, are you saying that it's untrue that you can't Ctrl-Alt-Del without your thumb, or that it's untrue that you actually can? Because Little Fyora's post has white text underneath the main text. Text that I only noticed when you quoted the post.
  22. The Spiderweb Facebook page just announced the release date. So either he's alive, or the computers are taking over. or both.
  23. It's pretty easy to hit all three with one hand on a full sized keyboard, but when I run my MacBook Pro in dual-boot, it's a real pain to have to hit both sides of the keyboard. I wonder if Microsoft will ever replace ctrl-alt-del...
