Horse in a man costume

On OSX10.6.4, when I try to travel to the Ruined School from the travel screen, it starts to load, then stops at "Preparing graphics", then returns to the travel screen with the Bandit Woods selected. Does anyone know what's going on there? Thank you.

I have completed three of the trials in the aforementioned lake, but cannot complete the one in the north, with the statue of the ogre and the secret passages. Any suggestions?

AV1-BoA were way superior to AV4, because the storyline in AV4 was the worst jeff's come up with yet. I felt cheated by its' dodginess. Also, the background graphics were not nearly as appealing as the earlier games.

I can't find the purified essence in the Circle of the Drayk. Where is it? I've looked everywhere.

I cannot access Emperor Tullegor's, and speech boxes with OK in them keep appearing while i'm walking. I have also just tried Eigenvale's, and when talking to Magda and Tyrol, it just says OK and nothing else.
