  1. Hi all, I haven't been to the forums in years. Still a giant fan, just not much time. I recently backed a Kickstarter campaign for a PnP RPG called Pugmire. It's an RPG where the players take on the role of evolved dogs in a post apocalyptic/fantasy world where man has become "extinct". Very cool game. So so why do we care? I just received the book and the author has a small section up front where he lists the authors and works that inspired him to create the game. On his list is the Geneforge series and Mr. Vogel. It was cool to see... for a fan of both Tabletop RPGs and the Spiderweb games. Happy gaming, narpet
  2. Thanks, everyone for your comments. Now I'm even more excited about getting the game!
  3. Hi all... I am looking forward to the Windows release of this game. So... for those lucky ones of you who get to play the game now... how about a quick, spoiler free review. What do you think of the game? Try not to compare it to the original... just rate it on its own merit as a unique game. Thanks to any who choose to write up some quick reviews.
  4. There's a pretty good new review of G4 over at RPG Watch... Geneforge 4 Review
  5. Got it... that worked, and I shoulda known... that's a bit embarrasing considering I've been a programmer for about 18 years. Thanks for the quick response! narpet
  6. I'm running it on Windows... I tried print screen but I have no idea where it would put the screenshot. I looked in the directory where geneforge is installed but found nothing. I can't find any reference to it in the documentation either. Any ideas?? Thanks, narpet
  7. Hello all... I did a search for this but didn't find anything. How can I take screenshots in the Geneforge games? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, narpet
  8. Okay... I just received my games in the mail (GF1 - GF4) and I am going to go with everyone's good advice and play them in order. The temptation is of course to play the latest game, but I know that I'm going to enjoy it so much more if I play the whole series from start to finish... Thanks for all of your input. narpet
  9. I thank you all for your responses. I have lurked here for quite a while and I've noticed that this community has a much more positive and friendly population than a lot of other places. So now I'm excited to start G1 and begin my journey through the series! Thanks to all of you, narpet
  10. Hello all, I just ordered the Geneforge trilogy, along with Geneforge 4. I would like to hear the opinions of those who have a lot of experience with the series. Do you think I should play the series from 1 through 4? If not, should I start at a certain game and go from there (example: start with 3 and then go to 4)? If I do play the series from beginning to end I can probably plan on not getting to Geneforge 4 until I retire Let me know what you think... narpet
  11. Hello all... I just wanted to stop by and let Spiderweb know that I love Avernum 4. I've been playing CRPGs since 1980 (yes I'm an old geezer) and I've played just about every one ever made for the PC (and Commodore 64 and Amiga). A4 has that special something that makes me want to keep playing. Sure it doesn't have the hottest graphics or sound, but it's got great story and atmosphere. It's by no means a perfect game, but it's a heck of a lot better than a lot of games that are churned out by big name companies. I love that I can play for 10 minutes or 3 hours and have a great time either way. I've never played a game by Spiderweb Software, but after reading many good things written all over the web and in some magazines I just had to try one. And I must say that I'm glad I did. Congrats Spiderweb on creating great games and doing it your way! narpet
