  1. Sometimes my mage or priest gets a chance to not just learn a new spell, but to *improve* the level of a spell he already knows. The game tells me that he has improved his ability with that particular spell, but where can I find a listing of what level he is at with each spell? Sorry if this is mentioned somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. Thanks.
  2. Sometimes I'm carrying too much stuff and I want to put it safely away and come back for it later. Do chests, boxes, drawers, etc. keep stuff safe until later? Thanks.
  3. For What It's Worth: I have a 5600fx Nvidia card. I d/l and installed the latest drivers (66.93) recently. The same problems that you describe started happening to me. I re-installed my older ones (I was using 61.77). NO MORE PROBLEMS.
  4. What kind of video card do you have?
  5. For what it's worth. Do you have an Nvidia card? I was having *no* problems until I installed the latest Nvidia drivers (66.93). As soon as I did, I experienced constant lockups (cursor would freeze). I reinstalled the old drivers and everything is fine now. Hope this helps...
  6. What exactly are these supposed to do? When I use one I get the numbers to go up *very* slightly, although the description indicates an essence increase of over 25. Which of the 2 numbers (n/n) is this supposed to affect (or both)? Thanks.
  7. Thanks for all the replies, but I found out what the problem was. I can't have Windows set to use 'large' fonts. When I set it back to 'normal' the problem resolved itself. I would prefer having an option *in the game* to change it (thereby keeping my other Windows apps looking the same), but anyway, thanks again.
  8. Question 1) In Geneforge 2 the documentation says that I will regain essence by either returning to a friendly town (Drypeak) or standing next to an essence pool. I created a Fyora and later brought him up a level, then discovering that my essence was 4/22. I returned to Drypeak and nothing happened. I went to an essence pool in the Drypeak Warrens and while standing next to it, heard the sound effect play and watched at the bottom of the screen as it told me that I was regaining essence at about a rate of 25 per second. Yet my character's blue essence bar remains the same and when I went to his ability screen it still shows my essence at 4/22. What am I missing here? How do I get the '4' back up to 22? Thanks. Question 2) If I buy the entire game after I finish the demo, will I be able to pick up where I ended or do I have to start all over again? Thanks again.
  9. Found the problem. Evidently, I can't use the 'large' font option in Windows and still have the game display text correctly. When I changed to 'normal' (in 'advanced display settings'), it fixed the problem. Thanks.
  10. Started to play the demo (Geneforge 2), and I've noticed that sometimes the text seems to be too long and starts to display outside of the borders it is intended to stay within. This can make it jumbled up sometimes with other text or unable to read as it prints itself over the border and if the border is dark blue for instance, it becomes unreadable. I like what I see so far of this type of 'old school' game and would like to continue, but this text problem is a real irritation. I have d/l'd the latest version. I'm using windows XP with plenty of CPU power. Any ideas? Thanks.
  11. My monitor is 22", so I doubt it's too small. I just d/l'd the demo, so I assume I'm using the most recent version. Using Windows XP on a 1 year old 'loaded' system. I've had this problem before on Spiderweb software (other games), so I don't know what gives. I'll try leaving a msg in the tech section. Thanks.
