  1. Oh, that talk of cheats reminds me: any word on whether we will have a character editor? The cheats are fine, I guess, but the char editor was useful in various situations.
  2. I think it's a good time to remind everyone that members who have been here for less than six months probably shouldn't be explaining the rules to even newer members. This tends to lead to bad things. Let the moderators and experienced members do what they do.
  3. Um, the Latin for "resurrection" is "resurrectio."
  4. Hmm, it's been a while since we've been graced by the simple negations of Maimonides.

Uh, as for the actual topic of the thread, I have little to add other than that this all sounds pretty good. I'll have to see the results, but I am happy with the pre-pre-pre-pre-release buzz.
  6. Er, you may have to e-mail Jeff on this one. His first piece of advice will probably be to download a new copy and e-mail him for a new reg key.

Seriously, this thread would have been locked long ago if anyone actually moderated Tech Support. The best solution is just to stop posting in this thread.
  9. This thread is just as iffy as the title suggests.
  10. How to take screenshots. Ach, I didn't notice how old this topic is. My excuse is that it had already been revived, and this is such a common question that a link to the most obvious source of such information is good to have in any case.
  11. Some people don't have e-mail notification turned on.
  12. You need a "break" at the end of your INIT_STATE. You also need a START_STATE and an EXIT_STATE for BoA even to read your script. The easiest way to make a functioning script is to copy a short script from an existing scenario (say, t20Small Cave from VoDT) and delete everything inside the states without deleting the states themselves.
  13. Spidweb spends very little time on these forums, except immediately following a game release. Jeff has delegated that responsibility to non-employees. Try the spidweb email again. They occasionally don't get/ignore an e-mail or two, for unknown reasons.
  14. I liked the individual skill points instead of levels in the original Nethergate, probably mostly because it was different from any other Spidweb game. But eh — it wasn't a very big deal, so I'm hoping that other things will make up for this.

  16. I think we've eventually concluded that the primary reason that BoA hasn't produced as many scenarios as BoE is that it's far harder to make a BoA scenario than a BoE one.
  17. Be sure to check out the relevant resources, too. Alint is a good thing, and my links list has some good stuff, including Spidweb's bugs page, which has a note or two about line number problems.
  18. As far as I could understand, those ideas aren't scriptable. GF-style creation in BoA has been discussed here , starting about halfway down the page. The conclusion was that it's possible, though somewhat inelegant.
  19. Alorael is the person who keeps signing his posts with the name "Alorael." That is, he is member 335, who changes his displayed name regularly.
  20. Well, both are strange and otherworldly, and certain magic-using vahnatai have been called "shapers" since before there was such a thing as Geneforge. On the other hand, Jeff has stated pretty emphatically that the two worlds are different, unless I am grievously mistaken.

  22. The spray cans are also useful for this to some extent.
  23. Because "what she believes is right" is so obviously not right that the train of thought usually stops right there. She's stupidly clinging to something that's clearly evil. That's a generic evil villain. Rentar is dead. Dead dead dead. In A5, people will talk about how dead she is. So says Jeff.
