  1. I just don't why you have assigned tool use skills for two of your characters. It is meant to be trained by a single PC, isn't it? I don't think Bear needs tool use. And how did you get these much of coins nearly max?.....

  3. I don't think that the Avernum game ends with that. No progress since Monday? I don't think that this game is boring or posting in this forums as boring.
  4. Ladyonthemoon, Djinn is making more damage in his fine slith spear compared to iron SHORTsword because the base dmg value of the spear is more higher than that of the shortsword. The mistake here is you compare a stronger weapon to a weaker one. So, that doesn't mean that he is doing better in pole weapons. Get a powerful melee weapon and you would find that he is doing even more greater damage. And, coming to the hedge wizard, you gave him a trait of natural mage which means you can give any armor including leather and studded armor and it won't encumber his spells if not APs. You can give any armor for Edward and not only robes. That's just my feeling and you can do achievements however you want!🙂
  5. Your progress is quite good, but I think Edward can be given something better than a robe and try increasing defence for Bear and you can wear the studded armor. And I think Djinn should be given a melee weapon according to your training of him.
  6. I feel like getting a clue in disguise, if not blessing. When I was working in safe mode before 2 weeks and I just tested if A6 is working. It did open!! Does opening only on safe mode means can I tell that some other software is blocking it?
  7. Hmm... looks like the progress is good. Knowing how a co-community member works with the game is a good experience. Keep going! I have a difference here though, just to share. I will just reload few number of times if some area is unreachable. I will leave only if that place is not supposed for me to go. How awful. And, ladyonthemoon, I think you can upload a daily pic update if that does not mess with your hard disk. Thank you. My PC is bugging or else I could be on with the BoA forum. Waiting for the return but I would like to give a place on budget for that after 2 months hopefully.
  8. Hmm... the party here again looks good. Everything depends on how we train them as we proceed in getting experience. Let me say my opinion about how I would do it. My best ever combination is about using a soldier, archer, cleric and sorcerer. Archer gets tool use points too. So, from Avernum 2 onwards when I chose races I pick a slith soldier for its fire resistance, nephil archer for the nimble fingers, and the magic-casting humans. I will give points on pole, strength, hardiness, defense, cave lore mainly for my leader at the start levels. My nephil gets points on melee, bows, hardiness, defense, tool use mainly at the start levels. Priest gets dexterity, intelligence, defense, melee, P.S, potion making at the start. Mage gets dexterity, intelligence, defense, melee, M.S, arcane lore at the start. I don't believe on first aid. Endurance goes equal for all characters. No thrown missiles as they are heavy. I give some points of luck for the characters at intermediate levels. 2 points of pathfinder, 1 point of barter for everyone as they are not that useful in my scope. Everyone gets some points of vahnatai lore, leader and archer get some points of gymnastics, assassination are given to the first 2 characters at intdermediate levels and last 2 at high levels. For weaker enemies especially at the start, I use my fighters to defeat them and have my magicians to wait or defend or to rarely hack or my priest and mage just for defensive spells or rarely cast attacking spells. This is because I don't want to be overdependent on those for weaker enemies as my leaders should too get XP. I also use arrows rarely upto A3 because I don't want to get out of supplies and I also want to get melee skills. Things just go like that. Priest and mage too get hardiness at intermediate levels. I feel its good for me to have 2 magic casters as I don't hav to depend on same person to heal my party and haste my party as you can do it quickly in few turns. However, whatever your party is, a good gameplay can reach heights in the game!
  9. Progress ultimately delayed. There is a motherboard failure in my PC which makes my PC unable to turn on. I hope I would be able to solve this, but if not it may take 2 months to buy new motherboard and continue my progress. But, I saved all Avernum games including my scenario progress in my pendrive. Safe as it is. But don't think I would give up like those silly designers who give heroic dialogues and then give up in a moment. All the elements are about to get complete in my 1st outdoor section including the towns in it. There are 2 outdoors in my scenario. UPDATE: Few days more and I think I can start again by mid-August. I am having all the codes in my memory.
  10. That would be the new graphics design, the world map feature, character actions for shooting and using swords and an innovative map in Avernum 5. I don't think there is a review page for these games. Should be considered if there is none. Sorry to say, but I don't think there is a mistake with your party. Your gameplay method should be wrong. Please re update your old party so that I can compare.
  11. I can understand that you don't like second trilogy due to the scaling issues, but I think its worth to give it a try as new changes come only with pros and cons. You will definitely enjoy it too. I too hate features like all town mode, enter combat on sight, unlimited arrows, healing on gate but some features came that I like. So, you can try it once and you would like it.

  13. Thank you for that made me think that some bug got downloaded with BoE. Still my job is not done however. Should recover my XP.
  14. I was on to my XP with safe mode in order to save and backup some files. BoE was located on C: drive on my PC which I liked to have moved to another. I copy-pasted it in order to ensure that works fine on another location. Then, I tried to delete the one on C: drive but it tells that you can't delete MAIDWORD.TTF and then closes. That was just a text file. Other exile games were success fully moved but this refuses. Can I know why?
  15. Hello guys, I found out a way to hide the pacific ocean to the south of my outdoor section. Put the blackness terrain in the south edge of your outdoor section and you are fine. That's what I did to block the party from reaching the northern outdoor section which should be reached in a different manner. The cutscene was too fine. Is there any way to test the dungeon scripts by playing it without fighting the monsters in the way? It is annoying.
  16. Thank you, but... it can't be done. The outdoor section is a section which was present in one of the spiderweb games and a wall was not supposed to be there. This happens every time you create a outdoor section (or atleast I think) the north and west edges get blue and I noticed it every time until I put up a wall. I tried to upload a screenshot in my website, but I couldn't for some reasons.
  17. I want to create a cutscene. I want it to occur inside a closed door when I am outside of it. When I run it, I can't view the room any can view only blackness as it closed. How to make it visible? Help appreciated. And also, at the south end of my outdoor section, I see a blue area. I don't like it.

I haven't placed such command anywhere and I think it is showing the 'move' in the dialog choices but I don't know why it occurs and fails to load the entire outdoor script. Help appreciated.
  19. I want to rather not show the date and year in the scenario in the area decription box, like the thing happened in 'The Magic' and Echoes: Renegade. What should I do?

  21. Oh, my sincere apologies. I knew that Avernum 6 is compatible with Windows 2000 but I recently read the homepages of the remakes which had a minimum compatibility of XP, and got confused by that. I didn't intend my post.
