  1. Well then, it was nearly 100% failure in the room of basilisks for Pachtars Plate! Anyways, I tread carefully and was able to kill them with ranged before getting too close.
  2. Hey all, So I'm a bit confused. I have polished plate mail from the Giant Quest and it gives you Protection from Petrification. However, every time I'm in a battle with a basilisk the character that wears that armor still has a chance of turning into stone. Is this 100% protection or only a small % of protection? This happens when I equip other items too that have protection from petrification. I'm wondering if the protection can stack too?
  3. Hi all, So, I'm at the part where I'm defeating the third plague and a Doomguard appears (crystal room w/ laser beams). With a fighter-heavy party, it wasn't too terrible a battle. It splits, but it's splits are lower health and can be cleaned up quickly. Now, I've read they can drop all kinds of things, mind crystals and, well, mine dropped a plate armor. I save the game in a new slot and attempt the battle again, and again, and again, and it no longer drops loot. I was hoping I might find other valuable items, but nothing more happens. No mind crystals, no plate armor. What gives? Is there a loot list, and the plate armor was like a <1% drop? I cannot get it to drop anything ever, so I cannot even verify if rumors of it dropping anything are true. I'm just going to continue with the save file that has the armor drop. How is loot determined in Avernum 3?
  4. Thanks, so they are supposed to be invisible. Good to know! I remember Exile having more area type spells, I just have up to the lightning spell (which most spells are target-only). Anyways, I found them to be far harder than the dragon on Pergies, because at least that dragon had a greater than 70% hit chance and some distractions later it was dead pretty quickly. I also had more navigation room than the corridor I was in.
  5. Hey all, Avernum 3 is one of my favorite games and I played it a long time ago. Anyways, I've been playing it again on from a copy I bought on GOG. I'm in the Filth Factory with my party and there's a secret passage on the second level that ends in a corridor with two doors. Opening them reveals nothing, but my party gets attacked - viciously - by something invisible. I keep dying again and again against these invisible creatures. When I attempt to attack the invisible creatures I can barely hit them at like 5% to 15% accuracy, and they cannot be targeted by spells. Sooo... In the party editor, I beef up my party's stats (in a separate save file) to see what happens *if* I could kill them. Anyways, I was able to and it turns out they are called 'Guardians'. Searches online reveal nothing about these creatures or anything about them being *this* difficult on walkthroughs of the area. - What gives? Any insights? Thanks!
