This is not to beat a dead horse, as I know Jeff has said that he is unwilling to remake Blades again after poor sales, but... I mean, he's been known to change his mind on other things.
I think it could be nice to have Blades remade for Steam. I mean, Avernum is a bigger name than it was in the 90's and thus you can likely expect a wider customer base than the original (and among his original fans, who here WOULDN'T buy a remade Blades?).
But more important than that, I think that it could be amazing with Steam Workshop. Imagine if the level editor was part of the whole package and we were able to create, upload, and download content to Steam Workshop. I think you'd see a gigantic, all-new customer base for the game simply because Workshop content invites modders, which invites longevity if the engine is strong enough. And the Avernum engine clearly is.
I realise it's perhaps unlikely, but I want to see Avernum Workshop content so badly that it hurts and others likely feel the same, so I figured it'd be worth the discussion.
