  1. too late; I planted them in my garden. Maybe they'll sprout into an army of pet spiders
  2. I didn't mean the quest items, I meant mundane items as a make up pot, bellows or the aforementioned cloak and sugar. I knew that some merchants sell these things, but had to search to find them again. I just thought that a list of upcoming job board items would be helpful. Then we could collect them for later when we stumble over them. By the way, is there anybody in this game who needs my collection of Aranea fangs? edit: found it; nobody wants the fangs ;_; Maybe I'll use them to decorate my mansion's garden
  3. Thank you for this topic, APV, much appreciated - I indeed found my revenant in the Spiral Crypt Now I just ran around for ages to find a Beautiful Cloak and a Bag of Sugar (cause I sold them all). Is there somewhere a list of Items to Keep for Job Board Quests?
  4. I cannot deliver my message to Mother Loomis anymore since I accidently killed Spurn when he jumped at me - and now whole Bavner is mad at me. Another feature
  5. Wow, you're faster than my archer I tried to talk with Zamora about that map, but the dialogue doesn't come up. Could be that I bought it already ... edit: the maps which we buy are not in the Special Items list, no? Maybe I haven't found the lumps from Arion yet ... will check out tomorrow.
  6. Does anybody know how many lumps of metal are in the game? I already wasted two (one each for Arion and Carmine) and cannot give metal to the dragons now for the alien beast blade. I got one from Athron, the other from outdoors near the Inn of Blades. Is there a third one?
  7. Has anyone any idea why it's always night time in on the surface? Inside towns, on battle fields and in the part with the bandit lair and Erika's tower it's normal light, but the whole surface section is eternally gloomy. Not much fun to stumble around in this depressing darkness. Could it be a bug? edit: sorry, this is in the wrong topic. I didn't see the others before, probably since I was not logged in. Will post this question somewhere else - and please delete this post (couldn't find a way to delet it myself)
  8. I didn't like the demo and didn't buy it. Jeffs advice was fair and wise
  9. There are not more than four. Ephesos mentioned them all.
  10. Quote: Originally written by The Lurker: Actually, I remember someone saying (writing) that the A4 demo was way smaller than one fifth of the game. It actually is very small. Too small to convince me to buy it. It had not that addictive effect of the other demos, when I had to register because I was in the middle of the game and couldn't stop anymore. Since I don't like the new engine at all, I'm not sure though whether I would have registered if the demo had been bigger ...
  11. Yes. ;_; It's a tragedy. Solmyr, don't mistake Supanik for Imban. The real Imban is member no. 75.
  12. Welcome IT 000! We like Avernum a lot - change your friends I remember a mithril blade in A3. No axes in the series, but a blessed axe in a Blades of Avernum scenario. I suggest to try out the free demos and find out whether you like it or not. Also it is an advantage to have a Mac. Since all SW-games are developed on Mac, the Macians will have new games some months earlier.

  14. Thank you for the correct date, Drakey. Maybe I'll start to forgive you the TM-banning.
  15. Thank you all, my main question has been answered now. I wanted to know whether BoE was something revolutionary new. But since World Builder and War Craft came 1995 already with an editor it seems not. You just helped me with my article I'm writing about BoA and Jeff, thanks again. BTW, the nice, antique, black and white World Builder (it's freeware now) caused four computer crashes before I gave up
  16. I'm asking about any games with editor. And with editor I mean a program to design your own scenario as in BoE and BoA, not only a character editor. What is BoX?
  17. Since I stick exclusively to Spiderweb games I have no idea what happened in the big RPG-world outside. Which was the first game coming with a game editor? BoE was out in January 2001, AFAIK. Do you know earlier games that permitted to create new scenarios?
  18. Quote: Originally written by bogus standard candidate: ... Will this be the first Avernum without Erika? Can her ashes play a part in the storyline somehow? Maybe she can appear as a ghost. An Avernum game without Erika scarcely bears thinking about. ... Maybe she'll come back as a shadow mage, a voice in the void or she managed timely to copy her knowledge into a crystal soul ...
  19. Ok, thank you. Then I'll repaint my graphics <sigh> and send them again as gifs. And I follow Thuryl's advice for new graphics. edit: Maybe it would be useful to mention in Louvre "you shouldn't be saving the graphics as jpegs in the first place". For stupid noobs as me.
  20. I am sorry for your bad karma and hope, the times change soon for you. Nevertheless I dare to bother you (or somebody else, who could give me a hint) with a silly question about graphics formation. In Louvre you write that gif is preferred. When I change my jpgs to gifs, a lot of colours are spoiled. So I sent the graphics as jpgs. What are you doing with jpgs? Is there a special trick to transfer a jpg into gif without loss? I work with Photoshop. Any advice is appreciated.
  21. This is a useful article! I try to consider it when I'll give you a feedback about Emerald Mountain (but I have to play it again first).
