Honestly, I've played for over 100 hours and I haven't achieved any of the three victory goals. Just because I love the setting, the environment and searching around for optional quests. The game is fantastic and I can't wait for Avernum 2 tomorrow! Day one purchase for me! ...But I guess that means I'll have to stop dillydallying and get around to completing the quest.

Hello everyone! So I came here to ask a few questions, being new to creating scenarios in Exile (though I've used many different editors in the past like the Elder Scrolls Construction Kit, Unreal Editor and many more to create custom content). 1. I have both Blades of Exile and Blades of Avernum up and running on the computer. Which one is recommended, especially for beginners? Or is it more of a personal preference than a suggestion? (For the record, I plan to make a few small scenarios at first to test the water before jumping into larger ones). 2. Is there a place I can go for a full fledged tutorial? 3. Any tips for a beginner? 4. If I should finish a scenario that I feel is worth uploading, is there a universal place I can do so or is it more of a "you're on your own, link to it here" thing? Thanks, I hope I'm not being too noobish here.

Thank you both for your helpful suggestions! I actually got the games to work but I had to install windows 95. The good news is that the games are running perfectly and both saving and loading. But I appreciate the help and quick responses.

Hello! My name is Jerry and I'm new to the spiderweb forums and was hoping you could help me with a problem I'm having. So thanks to the recent Humble Bundle, I've been playing the Avernum games and they're quite amazing. However, I grew up playing the shareware versions of Exile 1, 2 and 3 (I always wanted to register but I didn't have the money back then) and came to the site looking to purchase the games. Amazingly, they were free so I downloaded them only to find out that my 64 bit win 7 won't run them. So long story short, I got Windows 3.1 installed on Dosbox and the games work smoothly (aside from some flickering). However, as I go to load my save file, it immediately shuts down to a black screen that I can't get out of (unless I stop Dosbox and reload it). I thought it was just because I was playing Exile 1, but it also happens on the other versions of Exile. Is there a way to fix this or should I start looking for my Windows 95 cd so I can create a virtual drive? Thanks.
