Easygoing Eyebeast Trenton.
To me, I think G-eh-neh-forge sounds right. Imma add a poll. What do you use to pronounce it?
Easygoing Eyebeast Triumph
Two syllables. "Jean-forge," with "jean" like blue jeans, not the French "Jean" as in Jean-luc Picard.
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
What Triumph said. It's a compound word. Gene+forge. Therefore it's pronounced the same way the two words normally are. Dikiyoba.
Magnificent Ornk nikki.
Yeah. Considering what the games are about, anything other than "Jean-Forge" just wouldn't make sense.
Well-Actually War Trall A less presumptuous name.
Admittedly, I think I pronounced it similar to how Trenton does way back when I first found the games. Of course, I was in elementary school and hadn't the faintest idea what a gene was, so it was gibberish to me. Since then, I've adopted the compound word pronunciation. This is the only real reason I can imagine for pronouncing it anyway other than the way everyone else in this thread has already mentioned... Why do you pronounce it the way you do, Trenton? I ask merely out of curiosity, of course.

Easygoing Eyebeast Trenton.
Eh...Never noticed the compound of the word... Anywho, I have just been calling it Geneforge in the way I say it since I have found the games xD I still call it that now out of habbit. Upon looking on youtube on a walkthrough of Geneforge one, The guy playing it pronounced it "Genie-Forge"

But words are strange, and it seems like half the words in the English language don't sound like they look. Generally, when it comes to, for example, someone's name in a book, I take a look at it and wing it with what's easiest for me to pronounce or sounds nice (at least in my head). Maybe some time later, I'll revise it with a proper pronunciation. Alternatively, that could be because of names with four consonants in a row and five apostrophes, ie Wheel of Time... Back to the topic, ever since I first saw "Geneforge", probably some time in mid 2006, I've pronounced it "Jen-eh-forge". Consequently, anyone around me who's seen the game, says the same. It's wrong. But how I do it. And probably always will.
