Easygoing Eyebeast Jerakeen
One of the walkthroughs seems to suggest that Sylak's wisdom rock gives bonus skill points once per day. If that were true, then it would be an extremely powerful item--but it doesn't seem to do anything at all (except give you pretty thots in your brane). It's a little worrying, actually. Anybody? Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
I think someone said it gives a tiny amount of experience, but since you get it late in the game that won't make much of a difference. This could be what it did in the original game.
Easygoing Eyebeast Jerakeen
Ah yes--5 XP. Hardly worth an inventory slot. A (semi-) related question: any thoughts on whether it's worthwhile building your spell circles past level 8? Or is it better to just invest in Druidism and Intelligence, which presumably would affect all of your spells?
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
Unless I'm misremembering something, you want Druidism as long as it's cheaper. I can't remember now, but you should check to make sure Intelligence does, in fact, add to your spells' bonus instead of just giving you more energy to work with. —Alorael, who finds he can't remember when Intelligence went from essential to just helpful. It was definitely like that in A4, but was it in BoA/NG:R?
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
I think by NG: R, intelligence was no longer increasing anything but spell energy. In the original game it increased druidism, tool use, and a few other skills so the derived bonus made increasing it very worthwhile. Increasing druidism helps with all spell effects so increase it as long as it is cheap and you have all the circle levels for spells that you can cast. Easygoing Eyebeast Jerakeen
I suppose you could, but why? It's not a big step from doing that to just using the character editor, if you're that keen to get XP for nothing. And it would be a lot easier on the ol' carpal tunnels. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
I think that item is based upon game date and not entering a starting point town.
Tenderfoot Thahd Lorcan
Yes, it takes 1 game day for the stone to reset, and all for another peddly amount of XP. You'd be better off using the thing as a paper-weight, really.
