With Win 2k right-click on the bottom taskboard, just left of where you see the time. A menue pops up and you'll find the Taskmanager there. Click on it. You'll see the programs and the processes that are currently running.

As an afterthought: if you haven't been to a porn site, have you gone to a crack site? They sometimes give you little gifts as well.

He hadn't mentioned that at the time I posted.

Anyway, the program you mention doesn't seem like the sort of thing one would run at startup.

I suppose the obvious thing to do is ask everyone in the house if they've deliberately installed any such thing. If they haven't, find the program and try to get rid of it.

ok, but why not use a P2P program to get software illeagaly?
Well, in many cases shareware programs which have been unlocked by registration keys become re-locked with new keys when transferred to a different computer. Thus, attempting to send someone a registered shareware program through a file sharing program is often useless.

Well if you are going to transfer the registered game you have to make sure you also include the registry files so that it would be considered registered... sorta like when you get exile on another computer and need it registered but lost your code... or if you get an older version of Exile because you just like the old graphic set :-D.

What constitutes a major transgression for a member:

+ Any communication that is intended to harass, belittle, humiliate, threaten or cause embarrassment to a fellow member.

+ Hate speech against a certain group of people, due to their religion, sex, sexual orientation, nationality, etc.

+ Impersonation of another person or screen name (including "faking" a screen name by using similar-looking text characters).

+ Discussion of illegal activities.

+ Depictions of sexually explicit material.

+ Flooding the forums with lots of topics and posts about nothing legitimate.

+ Requests for "cracks", pirated software, ways to pirate software, etc.

...Although no one has requested any, it is not preferable that you talk about it.

As of yet, I believe that no one has said anything inappropriate in this discussion. While the topic of cracks has been discussed, no one has crossed the line here and actually requested or supplied anything. There's no need to be an alarmist in this situation, RC. I think that most of us are aware of the rules and are taking care to abide by them.
