Curious Artila kuniqs
Seriously, the combat animations are killing my enthusiasm. Old avernum trilogy combat was blazing fast. Here, killing a stray cave rat can take up to 15 seconds if you're unlucky. It's a cool game and all but I wish for a way to make the combat faster . Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Go into the Settings menu when you start your game or in game by using the floppy disk icon. Once you are in Settings, turn off graphics extra details and reduce game area size. Older games allowed for turning off spell animations and other things to speed up the game. Welcome to Spiderweb Software. Please leave your sanity at the door. I just have some snacks near my computer to eat while I wait.
Curious Artila kuniqs
What does the 'reduce game area size' actually do? I thought at first it scaled the HUD down or something...
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Reduce game area size gives you less of the game screen so there is less of the game drawn each cycle. It makes it slightly faster as there are fewer sprites drawn, but then you can't see what is happening off the edges of smaller screen. So instead you can get hit by monsters you can't see or need to scroll to see them.
