Curious Artila GingerGlaahk
Hi everyone, Finally, I had some to time to download and play the new spiderweb game, but alas! When the download finished and I tried to run the exe, I got the following errors during the "extracting setup files" window: Decoding Error=1 followed by: Failed to extract setup file. (3703) and then the installer crashed. I am running Windows 8.1 64-bit, with all the latest drivers, and tried to redownload the game (perhaps the installer was corrupted or something) but it still happened. I tried running as admin, running with XP compatability on, but still, same errors. Help anyone?
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
try re-do§wnload with different browser or use downloadmanager (like getright, free trial). file's size should be 165 252 007 bytes (bit more on disc) and its md5 is 54435DB49DFE5FAA510AEE71AB7D85CE and also you could try creating new admin with pass and then in that account run installer as admin. Unflappable Drayk adc.
As Earth Empires suggested, it is worth a try to redownload Avadon 2, use Chrome or something, I'm no troubleshooter though, and try running the installer in compatibility mode. That should help. ----- -Nightwatcher
Curious Artila GingerGlaahk
I tried compatibility mode before and it didn't work. Also tried to download again but also no success there...
Curious Artila Copernicus
Let me ask, are you downloading the game directly from the Spiderweb website, or are you getting it elsewhere (Steam, GOG, etc.)?
Seasoned Roamer yarrmateys
it's also possible an overly eager antivirus might be corrupting the download or stopping the installer from working right.
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
size of file you have downloaded and its md5 (use md5checker).
Curious Artila GingerGlaahk
In the end it was indeed corrupted files, I downloaded over a different net connection and it was fine. I shall check my router and try to fix it, or perhaps my ISP. Thanks for the help everyone
