I have an Acer P43W, a good quality 24" monitor. I run it at 1680x1050 normally because the print is too small on higher resolutions.

What would be the best resolution to play the game? I assume some multiple of 10:8 such as 1680x1050, 1440x900, or 1280x800. The problem I find is that playing in 1680x1050 the battle windows, the roster window and the map window have plenty of screen space, but the overthe head view of the character sprites is "too far away." Feels like I am looking through the wrong end of a pair of binoculars.

I tried the two lower resolutions. 1280 is pretty good, much more up close to the battles and I can actually see the sprites clearly, BUT the battle/roster/map windows keep overlapping each other. This is compounded by the feature that moves the map when you move the mouse to the side or top/bottom. I go to click on the roster and end up scolling the map out of view.

1440 seems more like the 1680, too far away.

Just wondering:

1. What resolutions do most people play in and with what size monitors (widescreen).

2. Is there some way to lock the maps so moving the mouse too much does not push the battle maps out of view.

3. Is there some "zoom" button that can be called when needed. For example, I can live with the 1680 resolution in travel times, but then it says there if there is something on the ground I need to see or an enemy it would be helpful to change the resolution or at least zoom in on the fly.

1) I use the default 1920 x 1080 on a 23" monitor in window mode so I can quickly look at my notes in a text file.

2) Map moving can be a problem, but there are times when I want to use it.

3) There is no zoom function for any of the games.
