Unflappable Drayk Death Knight
I have the good old games version of gene forge 3 on my computer. I want to get the save folders on this computer and put them on my laptop. The problem is that the save folder for the good old games version is nowhere to be found on my vista computer. I looked in my documents, my computer, its no where to be found. Can anyone tell me where the saved games folder is on a vista pc. Im going on a vacation in a few days and don't want to lose my character that is getting further in the game. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Some Geneforge games save to the game folder. It should be in there next to the Scripts.
Unflappable Drayk Death Knight
Wait which game folder. I have the demo of geneforge 3 from spiderweb's main site, but that version doesnt work on my laptop. Im talking about the good old games version of the game. In that folder, there are no save files. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
I have an old Mac version, but it has inside a Geneforge 3 folder: the Geneforge icon to start the game the readme files a Geneforge 3 Files folder that has the Scripts folder and the save game folders. Unflappable Drayk Death Knight
Sorry for double post, but randomizer would messaging jeff or calling him tomorrow work? He might be the one who might know where it is.
Seasoned Roamer Dire Hobbit
With the Steam version (if this helps) I notice one weird behaviour: Spiderweb saves are in public documents not just my documents.
Unflappable Drayk Death Knight
Just checked that folder. Nothing there. Its probably in the most random place, if its anywhere at all.
Seasoned Roamer Dire Hobbit
Did you try: c:\users\[your user name]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore GoG insists on installing to programfilesx86 so whatever a game can't save there will be stashed in virutalstore. Unflappable Drayk Death Knight
many thanks to you all! It turns out that there is something very weird in vista and 7 pcs sometimes. What happened was my computer didnt want to show all of the files to me, which made no sense. It was located in geneforge 3 saves which only was able to be seen when you do a search in the c drive. In a search of geneforge3, it was listed even though if i went through the other way, it wouldnt be seen. But still without you guys to point the location, i still would be in the dark. Many thanks! Easygoing Eyebeast keira
I believe a solution to that is to run explorer with admin permissions. I had a strange similar error of certain files not showing up when I was transferring files off of my old NTFS disk.
