Avernum Pit: Crash on Exit

Hi,

 

so far it seems a good enough game. However, it constantly crashes on exit. "Avernum.exe has stopped working" etc.. This is on Windows 7... any idea how to fix this. It's a minor inconvenience, I guess, but still, surely the game should be able to end without this?

Yeah this one is pretty annoying, half the time it'll cause my system to lock hard as well when it does crash Win7-ult, 64bit...

you could try install steam etc elsewhere than under program files.

Thanks for the advice, but I get the same problem if I run the standalone app without steam.

 

Or if I use the DX version vs. OpenGL.

usual procedure: update drivers, uninstall game and in this case steam too (copy savegames to safe) and delete any leftover folders and then reinstall steam to for example c:\steam or other driver and then install games and try again.

...There is no need to do anything with steam, as he's already said the problem is reproducible on the standard version.
