Hi, just bought the saga, started playing the first geneforge but am having some trouble with text overlapping and certain icons going over text (e.g next item in inventory button over the item's abilities)

(hope these work, imageshack not my strong point!) tongue

It's not gamebreaking by any means but if there is a way to stop this I would appreciate any help.

Thanks!

Hi, I also have the exact same problem you mention. After searching youtube for people playing Geneforge to see if it was simply the way the game ought to look I have to conclude it's not tongue. I have the Steam version by the way, which also makes the need of looking for a possible patch unnecessary/ impossible. Can someone please help us remedy this issue? Thank you!

It has been posted by "SpidWeb" about those problems. On the non-steam version, it works fine, but sometimes, when you're too powerful, it overlaps. Jeff is already at work merging games at Steam, because all other games that are on Steam are merged. Example, you can trade at TF2 by using the steamcommunity usernames because it is merged. You can visit other recent posts about this.

Fixed it, found the solution.

The problem was related to the font size not changing when you change the DPI scaling to small. It seems like there is a bug in Windows 7 if it is installed on a computer with a high def screen, it installs the default fonts and DPI at 125%, however, when you change it back to 100%, some of the fonts are not changed to their smaller version.

It is easily fixed by editing the fonts in the registry. Alwasy back up the keys you change before you make any changes so that you can revert back.

See the link on how to make the changes.
