I have less than 2500 posts... tongue ...though I'm nearly there.

This is mainly because mods tend to stick around and post actively. Interestingly, most of the current mods became mods at well under 2500 posts (and usually under 1500). This applies to *i, Alorael, Kelandon, Khoth, myself, Randomizer, Toby-Linn, Niemand, and Celtic Minstrel. Ephesos and SoT were around 3000, IIRC. The major exceptions are just Aran and Dikiyoba.

Yeah, I wasn't too far over 1000 when I became a mod. I resigned before I hit 2000 too. tongue

That's why I made this topic, lol....I don't seem to post as much as other people that's why I'm impressed I made it to 1000.

Actually what really helped my post count was playing the first two Darkside Loyalist games and I guess becoming a mod helped too. Or else it would have taken me longer to reach 1000 posts.

I don't see why viewing either of these things is necessary. Registration date gives an idea of how long the person's been around, but any other numbers just give people reasons to make assumptions.

For example, one might assume that someone who took so long to reach 1000 posts is a fairly obscure member, an assumption that Toby-Linn proves false. Congrats! smile

Yup.

Nah, I thought it was Ephesos too. Are you sure it wasn't? Maybe you should ask him.

Yea it was definitely Ephesos.

Don't, but did, no? I thought your member number was the only piece of data saved from your dead account.

—Alorael, who doesn't want to talk about his post count. He'll talk about Toby-Linn's instead. Congrats, and many more!

Heh, funny, but the first 1,000 posts always seem to be the most important ones. Anything past that just kind of blends in to the background.

And that post reads like something written while on skribbane.

I'm worse- I've been lurking since G5 came out for mac, trying to grab spoilers. If I'd signed up then, I'd probably be challenging Alorael's post count by now.

Wait, let me work this out..

I have 422 posts, counting this one, and registered August 22. This means that I had a posting velocity of about 6 posts per day on average. Presuming I kept this up from my fake registration, which I put at Feb 18, what a Google search put as the release date for G5 on mac (this seems about right), I would have slightly over 1.5k posts by now. That's impressive.

Again, I know, but I love this cartoon. It's my new background.

The thing is, though, as time goes on, the rate of posting tends to steadily decline. Especially in those periods of inactivity between game releases. There was a time at which Iffy had a higher posting rate than Alorael - however, Iffy's all but gone now, and Alorael just keeps posting drivel, like Alorael does.

Moving to a satellite board can be one reason the post rate on SW declines, true.

That's what they all say.

Dikiyoba used to say it, too. Alas, those spammy days are gone now.
