  1. Hey so I recently switched over to a tv after upgrading my gpu and I just learned that geneforge 4 and 5 don't exactly work at this resolution. I am currently using a tv which runs up to 2715 x 1527, and I'm using 1920 x 1080. It took a while to notice, as I play geneforge very infrequently, but it appears as though no matter the resolution I set it at, G5 is zoomed into the screen. At every resolution I can't see the hud or edges of the screen, prevently me from even moving the camera. It didn't help to use windowed either. For some reason the size of the window never changes and it is big enough that I can't move the camera down. Currently the only avaible option is to increase my screen res up to max. For some reason the windowed mode actually changes and works then. Seeing as this is sort of a pain to constantly change my screen res just to play a single game, I was hoping there is some work around I could to fix this. Also G4 doesn't have res options, it just doesn't work at all, even when I change my screen. The moment I move my mouse it gets forced off screen where the rest of the menu is (that I again can't see because of the zoom).
  2. Thanks a lot for the help, but I'm stil wondering which councilor to go after first, or if I should attack the cities first since they are probably gonna be hostile anyway. Only mentioned Rawal and Taygen because they are the only ones I tried. Rawal was surprisingly harder than Taygen( who I managed to defeat but I was finished off shortly after). Also on equipment I'm pretty satisfied. I currently get 11 action points every round and everything is either golden crystal enchanted or whatever gives energy resist. Although, are action points bugged? Because even when I'm not slowed or cursed I sometimes start with 9 or 10.
  3. My biggest issue so far is that I tank WAY better than my creations. Besides the war trall, they have next to no magic resist. I have to draw aggro so my creations don't get killed, because like I said I can't remake them once they die (they'll be like 10 levels lower).
  4. Ok so to start out, the last time I played this I was a small idiot child. I didn't know jack about strategy and I still don't know that much. However, I remember G5 being the easiest to get into of the series so I decided to complete this game with my new young adult mind. Hopefully I'm not an idiot. So I flipped a coin and went rebel. Up until now I have been on the fence so I could get all the shaper rewards I could. But I'm pretty sure I've completed every quest I still have access to, all that seems to be left is killing all of the councilors. All of my attempts with Rawal and Taygen have ended pretty poorly. Is there a certain order I should do this in, and furthermore, what is the fastest way to get myself +3 in Drakon creating? For additional information I need to know how well or how badly I made my character. I forgot to pick up that heal spell from the Trakovites and I don't know where else you can get it. I didn't invest in endurance and I've been relying on my creations never dying so I didn't put a whole lot into shaping either (I did keep some shaping gear for when I need it):

  6. Waiting..... Eh getting bored. Oh what's that I haven't been on here in ages?... and now all the topics only consist of edits and cheats? Hmmmm. Well more on topic, I think this is a bit sketchy but as long as Jeff is fine with this, I guess I'll being buying a new version in a year or two... seriously though, good luck.
  7. While this is still relevantly new, any advice? I'm doing a playthrough with a servile, but I still want to use minimal shaping, specifically battle shaping. I'll be joining Gharldring(if I spelled it wrong, I'm sorry). Also, any idea where some artifacts are (well besides the fens)?
  8. Do you not remember: Quote: for whatever reason I don't think if you played a shaper or some other weak pc, that it would easy.
  9. Of course, if you are, for whatever reason, strong enough, you can get some major experience from killing him.
  10. I don't think it would work out. It would have to be an independent storyline as the fifth Geneforge(besides Rawal's ending) was pretty thought out to be finished. At least, I don't see how we could make Jeff do another game. BTW he has a life you know. And he's busy updating the older games.
  11. Geneforge 1 Difficulty: Tricky Class: Shaper Faction: Obeyer Geneforge 2 Difficulty: Tricky Class: Guardian Faction: Awakened Geneforge 3 Difficulty: Tricky Class: Agent Faction: Shaper Geneforge 4 Difficulty: Normal Class: Servile Faction: Rebel Geneforge 5 Difficulty: Normal Class: Lifecrafter/Shaper (I've found that these classes are the same and only the servile makes a difference for class in text) Faction: Astoria
  12. Well around ten leadership should get you through the southern part of the map.
