  1. Speaking as someone who had done four hour stretches of raids on World of Warcraft for a stretch of a few months, I can speak with confidence that a touchpad is not helpful for a gaming experience without carpal tunnel. I decided to stop playing once the pain became fairly noticeable, which is actually what ended saving my wallet quite a bit of damage. So I suppose if you're looking to save money, go for a touchpad. If not, save yourself the pain and buy a good mouse.
  2. Goodness. There's a big name gone. Best of luck to you and whatever corner of the internet ends up being your new home.
  3. Quote: Originally written by Thuryl: The good news is that a character in A5 confirms that she's dead That made my day instantly brighter. Quote: Originally written by Emperor Tullegolar: No, she was killed by adventurers. It's really the only way to go these days. Isn't it awful? Adventurers always running around everywhere, breaking into people's houses, ransacking taverns, it's terrible. Reminds me of the Zelda series, though. No one seems to care that you rummage through their houses at will.
  4. I dunno, Alo. I'd like to see Rentar get what's coming, she's been alive far too long for my tastes. Or maybe we killed her off by now. I'm not sure, I haven't played Avernum 4 in a very long time, and I don't own a Mac for A5.
  5. Jeff tosses the "undefeatable" label out a bit too much, methinks. Characters that don't have the "you attack you die" node on them are usually easily taken out. Erika was simple, especially since her Doomguards didn't move. Rentar I had a bit of trouble with, but I recall that I whittled away her health while gulping down healing potions and she eventually gave in. I killed a bunch of dragons, except for Mortrax. I loved that old boy..
  6. Impressive. That must've taken a LONG time to complete.
  7. The Fens are certainly quite bothersome. The few creations sent out into the fens to help you don't help much with the constant regenerating troops of the Shaper Monarch. Also, I don't like swamps. My robe gets dirty.
  8. I have beaten the game already. I am re-playing as a Warrior on the Rebel's side.
  9. On one of the loading screens, it says that there are several characters in the game that will join your party, but I can't find any. Where are they?
  10. No, you don't understand. It is IMPOSSIBLE for me to kill him for some reason. He will not go below 1 HP, and when it is his turn it goes to the same conversation over and over again.
  11. As soon as I get him down to low health it goes to a conversation window saying that he "stumbles and waves his baton trying to fend off your blows" and you can either try to talk to him or attack, each one resulting with him healing himself.
  12. After hammering him for quite a while, he continues to heal. I've looked all over his dungeon, and I can't find anything to weaken him. What do I need to do?
  13. What I did was cast Augmentation, Arcane Shield, and assorted other defensive spells on my fighter and let him lure the shade over into a corner, and let my other three characters hammer it with spells, arrows, and razordisks.
  14. Underneath Castle Troglo, I'm stuck at the Khazi's gate. I've scanned the wall inside and there's no secret passages. I've tried using Magic Map and an Orb of Sight, they don't work. I've had endless attempts fiddling with the control panel but I can't get the bricks to move in a pattern where I can find a secret passage. Anyone know the combination?
