  1. I've managed to fix my drive and remove the corrupted files. While I still plan to replace my HDD I tried to reinstall Avernum, it's working now however when I try to talk to many NPCs I get "Talking Error: Dialogue script broken or absent." I tried to verify my game files through steam and it stated that everything is present and correct. I'd like to be able to get it working but no huge loss if I can't. I'll just have to wait until I migrate my drive.
  2. Alright, I'll do that. Thanks. Luckily I have a spare HDD on hand.
  3. I cannot delete them. All attempts to delete them usually results in "Error 0x80070570: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable." One work around solution I can think of is if I installed Avernum in another folder (currently in my steamapps/ common directory) but I do not know how to do that through steam without moving my entire steam library.
  4. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Avernum Escape From the Pit\Avernum Files\Scripts contains two corrupted files, textdocs.txt and zonetemp.txt I have tried everything to delete and reinstall Avernum but they won't disappear with anything I've tried. Malwarebytes file assassin, safemode, cmd prompt, etc. nothing works. I noticed avernum started having errors while playing so attempted to reinstall and discovered these two files that would refuse to be deleted.
  5. Oh no, my system is running fine. It's just Geneforge and a few other older games I have that are being slow. and so it's clear, none of the above worked.
  6. Since I updated my Surface 3 and my gaming rig to Windows 10 I can no longer run Geneforge. The game boots up but it's incredibly slow and clicks take about 5 seconds to register, events can take almost a minute to process. Any help?
  7. Hey there, I own every game from spidweb and recently purchased a windows 8.1 tablet, I loved playing Avadon and Avernum on ipad so was hoping I'd be able to do the same on here. Curling up with a hot cocoa and a tablet in front of a fire is my preferred way to play CRPGs. Unfortunately, after booting up Geneforge I found the touch screen does not align properly with any of the on-screen elements. I haven't tried all of the games yet, I suspect the games that support modern resolutions may not have this problem but I was wondering A) whether spidweb are considering touchscreen PCs in the future (patching old games or somesuch) and If there are any known third party hack arounds that may fix the issue (such as dxwnd). I'm interested in playing all spidweb games, not just the newer ones, but in particular the geneforge series. For reference I'm on a Surface 3 Thanks,
